While there are many door locks… It is not very "nice" to call them all crappy. It is just a way for new members to "spark" their imagination into something bigger. So in response to your poll, I will have to say no..

Just be nice to the people with the door locks, it can help new people join the CC community. If you don't want to look at them, don't.

Since this is a thread that makes no sense, I guess this remark on your signature fits nicely here:Just be nice to the people with the door locks, it can help new people join the CC community. If you don't want to look at them, don't.
Looked at your sig, looked at it again, thought for a second, then laughed histerically, like a boss…

I am a grammer nazi and I hate the way you use "there" in your signature, it should be spelled like so:.

What door locks? Which would go? Which would stay? Who decides? You? … No. The frequency at which they come through is small. and there aren't many overall without severely searching through the 'programs' section. plus, I don't see any programs you have contributed, at least they are contributing something to this community..

So many question marks… I think it drove the point through though :P/>What door locks? Which would go? Which would stay? Who decides? No, we shouldn't. Maybe if they don't actually have any code, but we shouldn't discourage new users from trying.
The idea of a door lock is rather pointless, unless RP frames, however.

Well i hate the doorlocks well most of them because they have no originality to them and are simply simple. But, what if the one we get rid of is the program that someone else was looking for and we were just disliking it because (we) didnt like it. Nope!

Additionally by removing it we could discourage the developer to continue deving and releasing, and for all we know they could have been programming the next big thing to hit these forums.Well i hate the doorlocks well most of them because they have no originality to them and are simply simple. Nice way of thinking about it! Thats outside of the box and very true. If say someone likes the lock then they will be inspired to do more and more and more and bam!!! Now instead of doorlock spamming we got OS spamming. Oh wait.. its already started!!!!!!!Additionally by removing it we could discourage the developer to continue deving and releasing, and for all we know they could have been programming the next big thing to hit these forums.Well i hate the doorlocks well most of them because they have no originality to them and are simply simple. Depends on the OS… Some OS's are nice, some not so much. As well like BIT said, they could have the next big thing right at their fingers.Nice way of thinking about it! I don't actually mind seeing everyone's interpretations of OSes, because they can differ unlike Door Locks. Though I meant is we may not get some original ideas. For example, what would have happenned if say someone like GravityScore got discouraged? We wouldn't have Firewolf, Thunderbird, CCCleverBot, Lightshot and more that I cbf listing! Then going for just one of those, Lightshot, we wouldn't have the other screen recorders (there is about 3 others), ccYouTube, LightTube/CCTube (even though CCTube it isn't released, I still wouldn't have started deving it without Lightshot), several other recording things……….Nice way of thinking about it! Thats outside of the box and very true. If say someone likes the lock then they will be inspired to do more and more and more and bam!!! Now instead of doorlock spamming we got OS spamming. I dont mind the Os's but sometimes there horrible like the ones that replace craftOS with there won name and call it a OS (which btw i think is fucking hilarious) but there are some OS's that arnt bad im saying we always get spammed with them.

Useless post. Locked.

I have no problem with newbies posting their work. It may look like junk to the more experienced coders, but these people probably worked very hard on their program, and are just as proud of it. The programs do get dragged into obscurity soon enough, so I see no reason for them to be removed or prevented. Bottom line: You don't have to look at the door locks if you don't want to.

I'm also jumping onto this - you say "clean up all of these crappy door locks".
Take in mind for a moment, I ask, "define crappy?" and "why not clean out 'OS'es too?". Not only is "crappy" incredibly subjective, but you can't turn around and say "this doesn't deserve to be on the forums, because x" - as we can't be selective or "picky-choosey", whichever way you want to define it. If we clean out x, we'd have to clean y and z, and that just isn't happening.
In addition, please be careful in using opinion-based terms to define and categorize things. My definition of apple is the same as yours, but my definition of "crappy" is more than likely different.
