Does anyone know how many post are need to become the next member rank? You might say this probably shouldn't be posted here…

The one I got is a custom one that has to be requested. you can request at 1000+ …

In response to your signature, my OS is fairly lightweight. Well it used to be (Kinda still is)

Ah, when I reach 1000… EnderOS Dev ftw!

I like EnderOS… I just tested it.

Even though I don't have the rank of a high posting member that suggest I know Lua well, I have a firm grip around it but I still can find tables hard. I have picked it up so quick because I know how to program Java very well.

Who do we request a custom rank from? I've always wondered about that since the custom rank I had for a short time got stripped. Though I find that I don't mind having "Request Your Own Title" as my rank, since it is rather amusing, given that I don't know how. So maybe I don't want to know…

Nah, I do want to know. I just might not do anything with the information if I find out.

Hate Java; Get Lua! If you like EnderOS then you will love the new update I am releasing soon. (some members on my server liked CraftLock better.. Such nubs) I love tables! (Sometimes I even eat on them :D/>)

If you know Java, just think of tables as a Dictionary crossed with an ArrayList. Only it isn't restricted to only store one data type.

Well if you put it that way ( I never thought of it like that…. )

It's actually 50 I think.. But it does'nt matter so much anyway.

And I haven't used Java in ages and will try to see if I remember anything..
It was fun when I used it but now I just use LUA,HTML,PHP and GameMonkey =D
I just learned a little HTML and PHP recently since I was bored..

If you want to request your own title. feel free to PM me with your requested title. If we approve it, I'll apply it right away.

If we approve it
Is it actually a process that has to be approved by multiple mods?

No, it's just common sense. I'm not going to approve something like a ridiculously long title or something that is offensive. I'm pretty much the only mod that is willing to take the requests anyway.

That was how I originally got my mind around tables. Was to think of them in that way.

Trivia time :D/>
Deep in its bowels, lua treats tables as both hashtables (which is actually what a dictionary is - a strongly typed hashtable, assuming it's the same in C# and Java) and arrays (or possibly array lists, depending on how it handles typing). When a table first gets it's member, that's when lua decides which to use.
If you declare a table as
local tab = {},
then assigned it a value like so:
tab[1] = 'hello mine turtle'
, the LVM (lua virtual machine, like the JVM but more friendly) would figure out it needed to assign an array, but not a hashtable. You could keep adding data to numerical indexes and all it would do is expand the array as required to save on heaped memory.
However, the moment you assign a non-numerical key, for example
tab['hello'] = 'click, boom'
the LVM knows arrays won't cut it and assigns a hash table.

What this essentially means is - if a table has only numerical entries, it only has an array behind it; if a table has only non-numerical entries, it only has a hashtable behind it. If it has both numerical and non-numerical, it has an array and a hashtable, which means it uses more memory generally speaking.
Javascript works similarly to this with its own objects.

Wasn't that fun to know? Probably not, but now you know anyway.

I did not know. But I did suspect that it wouldn't be appropriate to just PM the Mods at random. Now I have to think of a new title…perhaps my title will be "PM Cranium to Request Your Own Title". But then Cranium will probably get lots of PM's from clueless members. "If you have a thousand posts, then PM Cranium to Request Your Own Title" is a bit long…and I feel that it makes the irony of the title feel a bit dissipated. It also comes across as a bit forced…having "Request Your Own Title" came about so naturally.

Hmmm….

Nobody has actually asked me.

Actually, one person had, waited 10 minutes, and then deleted the PM, and then complained because nobody replied. Who knew? :D/>

Moral of the story - I can do them, just don't expect me to be ready to pounce. I have a life these days. :P/>

I also was once nominally alive. Though I'm not sure I had a life, as such. Ugh…now I feel the horror of my unlife, we should go back to making really lame puns and stuff. No more talk of having been alive!
