Ranks are pointless, they mean nothing, they do not directly correlate to your skill. The highest is 1000 posts though.

Why do we even have forum ranks? Like TOBIT said, they are pointless and have no correlation to your skill. Heck some Clueless members know more than me. I have no problem admitting that :P/> Also, if you think you are just going to spam in the general discussion board, well then you're wrong. You will most likely be put on Moditorial Preview for said amount of days.

There are some extremely rare cases. NitrogenFingers only has a few hundred posts, but his title is Lua Professor. He definitely deserves it, though. Just goes to show how unimportant post count is.
As for exceptions, there are still some people from the old days of CC who have custom titles.

I would say that forum ranks should always be customizable, since, as the OP and many others have stated, it doesn't really matter.

One post count is for evrything. The other does not count posts made in the game section or any section where post count is not affected.Have you been posting in Forum Games?
