Hey everyone. Im playing on CC v1.51 and I noticed that you can turn the new wired modems on and off by clicking them. Now this is nice and all but in my situation I cant have random people on my upcoming server just turning them on and off as they please.
I was wondering if anyone new if there was a way to keep them on, in code?
Any questions you have i'll be glad to answer.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to open or close a peripheral connection from a console. That'd be like magically moving a monitor next to a computer in prior versions.
The best way to go about this would be to simply hide your wires behind walls or under the floor.

Well this is nearly impossible for my situation. See I'm making crosswalk lights for traffic, and the top on has to be low enough to see. So raising it wont fix the problem. Also if I new how to add pictures to these posts besides through url I'd give you a screenshot.

To insert pictures, click the little
button, then just paste the link to your image in the URL box.
For hosting, I recommend
imgur.

Put the modem up higher than the bottom monitor… Or is it already on that one?
As Kingdaro said there is no way to stop them right clicking it.

Nah thats not gonna help. Well maybe an administrator will notice this post and give dan a heads up on some new quick additions for keeping them on in code. Although isn't there some place where I can post suggestions?

If I understand this correctly, I would just but the modem where the user can't interact with it.
Here is the suggestions forum.

Surely if it is in range where someone could turn it off, it is in range where someone could destroy it, meaning any such protection would be useless?

Well my real big question is, is that is there a command to turn it on? If so this solves my problem.

There are no commands to enable or disable peripheral connections.
