So opinion needed before i make cloud program
Started by AnDwHaT5, 24 March 2013 - 12:55 PMPosted 24 March 2013 - 01:55 PM
Si i am going to make a program that clouds that program over http. Before i make it i want the forums opinion on it first to see if it is even worth my time. So the cloud would have a user and password. When entered you can view the programs in your own folder made for you. If there is a program you want on it you type it in in the code box below and it is darted to your computer. i call it the ccCloud. My question is. Is it something you would even use? Would you want it? Is it worth my time to make for everyone because i dont have many things to do but i could be programming other things so i just need to know.

Indeed it is, and way worse words have been said than that………….. idk where you are from, but here in Australia (Shnupbups and myself are there) the word douche is so low on the offensive word scale its almost not on it.Remember this is a pg forum here.
Now back to topic, I think if developed correctly and nicely, it could become a very nice addition to the forums…
Here is a list of 20 things that are most important (also ranked by importance) that you need to think about and need to consider when developing your cloud service:

Github, however, you must pay for a private repository…Ok where is a good place to post and host files where I can make secure

I think he means server wish for the cloud repo…. not where he can store his project… a good and secure program allows for hackers to see how the client functions and interacts with the server and still not be able to hack the server…Github, however, you must pay for a private repository…

It's against the ToS for 000webhost to host files on it. I got my account banned for doing that :P/> I would definitely not recommend this.

Just remember the point theOriginalBit said, and you must definitely salt the passwords you get. I suggest talking to remiX, he is pretty succesfull with his program ccYouTube where he stores passwords ver secure.
Link to the program
ccYouTube by remiX said:PLEASE NOTE:
As of v3.1, an 'Accounts' menu has been added with a Register/login feature which allows your to register an account with a desired name, *email, username and password. This information is stored into a MySQL database with the passwords been **HEAVILY SECURED to prevent any breaches into my system. Registration only requires a username and password, name and email are optional.
Also, I need feedback about everything to do with the Account tab, the colours, text, position, etc. The colours now are from testing and I still yet need to find a better combination.
* For now, emails will be used to notify you about updates (soon to come)
** Passwords are secured like so:
- EACH password has it's own generated salt
- Hashed using SHA in many various ways about 6 times
- According to How Secure Is My Password, it will take A quattuordecillion years to hack my password :P/>/>
Even if someone had the SAME password as yours, their hash code wouldn't been the same as yours.
