It's probably bad logic, but I just adblock have it on all the time. I figure, since others are giving money, why do I have to? XD

You might say "but if everyone had that mindset then nobody gets any money", but that's the thing. Only me and few others have that mindset, haha.

I suppose I can't expect you to be an ultra mega web dev pro in five seconds, but at least some sort of attempt to make the page content be organized/flow nicely would be nice. It looks like it's just a bunch of text, links and widgets barfed on a page.

Maybe make a separate page for IRC, like with CMD games? Or just simply have a nice page background, that of course coordinates with the text so it's readable, and make sure it's not something blinding like pure red or green. At the very least, use a sans-serif font. Serif fonts are disgusting. <_</>

I have it enabled for this site, as well as a few others. It feels better to me, because I know that I am supporting and helping people… and yes you're right, if everyone had your mindset, no one would get money, then we would not have awesome things. And i think you would be surprised at how many people do actually have that mindset.

Kinda back on topic…

Taking a look at some peoples websites, I suggest that you run your HTML files and CSS files through the W3C validator, it will tell you problems with your code, just like a compiler. Why you might say? well web browsers are awesome things that are able to interpret what you meant, but sometimes they cannot. Making sure your code is valid means that you will never have problems from the browser not being able to interpret, and it can also sometimes speed up browsing. The HTML validator will also make sure that your code meets all accessibility standards and guidelines so everyone can have a problem-free experience with your website.

HTML Validator
CSS Validator

P.S. don't validate my website, GravityScore has heaps of invalid code in it, I fixed the major one and left the rest as I am making a new site anyways :P/>

This is, sadly, quite common for big business to not validate their code, and/or it is automatically generated by software, which always has problems.

Eh, you only make like a hundredth of a cent per click, so its not like I make that much, if anything. Also, quite a few mods I see has adf.ly links, and I know, CMD and mods are much different, so I get what you are saying. However, I really want an MC account and server, and I am going to try to make the server as good as possible. Hopefully this answered you a bit?

True, although there are reasons for using obsolete elements, Google and Facebook actually use heaps too, its all to do with having a broad range of browser compatibility, since even though they are obsolete they still work in the old browsers.

JavaScript is as old as I am, but it's still a fundamental component in HTML5. Yes, PHP and CSS can do a lot, but you can't drive things like HTML5's new features from there – you need JavaScript. For example, things like the new Canvas object, are JavaScript driven. You couldn't do things like this site here, you couldn't do fancy drag-and-drop file processing, use local-storage for data, or things like the Geolocation and the internal Web SQL Database. Don't discount JavaScript just because it's old.

Oh my God, I love you. :wub:/>

Also, it's not always optimal to use PHP. Sometimes it's better to keep the processing load on the client, instead of on the server. There is no reason to use PHP in UX design, for instance, as it's a waste of your server's resources. If the client has Javascript disabled, then they won't have the same experience, and that's just too bad. Even Google forces users to have Javascript enabled for some basic things (like creating a Gmail account).

Kingdaro #156

Ah, that's actually pretty neat. Though, you should probably use the CSS style cursor:pointer; on the color switchers, so they appear as links and not as clickable text.

Plus, the only color scheme with text that coordinates well with the background is the green one.

The site is done with a combination of CSS3 transform (Also webkit-, moz-, and o- because compatability) and Javascript. He is using a script, which automatically scales the tranform property and makes it look all the nice.
