How about making thin monitors(LCDs) and sticking em up wall/floor/ceiling like paintings?
Imagine an entire room having an animated floor. Or your bedroom ceiling having animated stars :)/>
Star wars like monitors hung everywhere!
Coat your entire house with them and you can change your house colour at the click of a button :D/>
Maybe some people would even make animated textures and stuff.
Pretty awesome.
Now that we have peripheral cables, it would be fairly easy to implement :D/>

ADDENDUM:
Please make coloured computers/monitors ie dye them with different colours. This makes organisation far more efficient. Also aesthetics :D/>

In the new beta we can already place monitors on ceilings and floors.

There is no advantage to this. it would still take up an entire block of space.

I think you might be able to do that yourself already by simply replacing the textures of the monitor's sides and back? I.e. replace them with blank textures.
Just a suggestion, haven't tried it myself. But might be worth a try.

It wont work :)/>
I want it to be hung up on the wall/floor/ceiling like a painting.
The entire block takes space. The painting thing is just there on the wall. I know I cant place more stuff within the bounding box but at least I wont collide with it.

Peripherals can not be entities. Hence this won't happen. If you want this, just recess the monitor in the wall - has the same effect.

You dont need an entity. How about one of those super thin blocks like panels and covers in Redpower? I am sure they are blocks.

BTW You cant put two monitors at 90 degrees outward. But you can do the same with Redpower panels and covers.
