Hey. My grandmother (Mother's side) is always wondering what I'm doing when I am programming for CC.
I'm trying to explain but she always wals away shaking her head..
So.. How do I explain it to her?
She is 60 years old..

First, change the title.
Second, tell her you are the computer's master and you are commanding it to do things for you.

I was in a hurry; it is more of a typo than a grammatical mistake.

I'm 60. I'll be 61 in a couple of months and I program in Lua along with VB6, VB.net and SQL. So I guess it is probably more about context than age. :)/>

I would just say, Lua, or programming in general is like a recipe for a computer. You write the recipe, the computer makes the "food" and gives it to you. The ingredients at the top of the recipe are like "variables" in the computer. Variables are just like numbers you would see in the ingredients list. And like in the recipe, you can refer the "variables" or "ingredients" throughout it for the computer to use. The computer follows the steps in the recipe that you wrote and what to do, very similar to of a flowchart .
