Suggestion for the Forum.

My friend just showed me this:


And he tought this would be very handy for here on the forums, and I agreed with him…

Features:
Chatting,
Multiple channels,
Able to connect/sync with IRC,
IRC colors and IRC icons,
Userlist,
Tab-completing usernames,
Chatting history,
Smileys!
Themes,
Topics,
Admin options. (Op'ing, De-Op'ing, banning, pardonning, setting topic.)


My friend would be happy to help you guys set it up -if needed-.
I hope you guys like the idea.

This has everything, but it doesnt have:

• Proper smileys, which doesnt matter anyway
• colors
• chatting history
• themes

But if you download an IRC client this all will be possible!

Yes, but you can put this program on the forums AND it can connect/sync with IRC, so you could go to IRC from here, or from IRC to here,
thus making the community a bit bigger.

Why recreate IRC and link them to IRC? 0_o

Basically yeah, but this ajax client features direct login based on forum cookies and thus also nickname preservation. On top of that it also masks your identity unlike real IRC.

It would just clog up the top of the forums. Pretty useless. If they want to be able to chat from the web they can use webchat. If they want all the features that IRC can offer they can easily go download a awesome client(I recommend HexChat).
