So I'm building a new computer, and I kinda wanted to see if you guys think it will be good for gaming? I will post what I have now, and what I'm going to build, I'm going to use some parts from the one I'm currently uses because DDR3 RAM is good, I got a free graphics card from my friends and I don't want to buy a new one right away. In advance, thanks.

Have now
  • AMD Athlon II x2 220 2.8 Ghz
  • 4gb DDR3 RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce 240 gt 1gb (got it for free, so I don't care XD)
  • Mini ATX Motherboard
What I am going to build
  • AMD A8 5500
  • 6gb/64gb DDR3 RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce 240 gt 1gb
  • ASUS F2A55-M

Your CPU looks good and it sounds like you're planning to overclock, so that will make it better if you keep things cool B)/>.

4 to 8 GB of RAM should be good, but what is the speed of the RAM that you're getting? Typically, your machine will only run as fast as its slowest component.

You should definitely look into a better graphics card, if you can. Make sure that you're patient with your build and therefore can get better components instead of rushing to build it.

Your motherboard looks good as well. However, it really depends on what for you're building your computer to do.
