Where can one find resources for MC mod creation? Any good ones you could recommend?

How about asking on the Minecraft fora? Not many modders hang out here(at least not nearly as many as there).

To be honest, the best way to learn modding (in my humble opinion) would be by looking through the code of those mods that are open source (And some that are not, if you wish to, by using JD-GUI). Aside from that, look around on the forge wiki. They have some good tutorials on there for beginners that give explanations of a few things.
