I'm really bored right now and have nothing else to do right now, and my internet has been really slow lately. (It's about 60% slower than usual). So if you want to show off your internet speed, then go to
speedtest.net and click "Begin Test." After that's done click "Share This Result" and the "Image" tab.
I'll start off with my internet. You guys will be so jealous of its speed :P/>.

NBN will never be 1Gbps, the government has admitted that, they're only promising 100Mbps, and if what's his damn face gets in come voting, NBN goes down the drain! Also NBN is only fibre to the street :(/>
God damn Google, y u back out of plans to bring cable here! Going to offer us 1Gbps to the door, unlimited downloads, all for approx. AUD$40. Putting up new exchanges so that Telstra didn't have a major monopoly on the market and we finally start to see more and better competitive pricing! Stop teasing us with good interwebs to then back out of the plans!!!!! "Google always being evil" xD

Well, that is awkward, my provider promised a 50MBit/s Download-Speed.
If you're connecting to your internet via a wireless router then unless you have a good router your internet speeds are going to be significantly slower, for example I get 10-20mbps on my computers at home but when I connect one direct to the router via Ethernet cables I get 98-100mbps

We don't use that site, for various reasons. It's not an industry standard, and it has lots of third party advertisements that are not necessarily the best for your computer.

You probably are :)/>
M
b/s means Megabits per second(hence the small 'b' for the small unit), and your download speed etc. is calculated in bytes M
B's (Megabytes, the large 'B' for the large unit). And since 1 byte is 8 bits you will most likely see it max out at 7.3MB/s.
I've always wanted to point that out :P/>

Yours is a little worse then mine.. especially on the upload.
But mine isnt like a 20Mb/s connection.

1: I don't know how to do that
2: Surly it would then say that I'm 0m away as I'm in Mansfield and that data center is in Nottingham
3: This is our college wired network. It needs to be powerful
4: The last test was done during the afternoon break where most of the college is out of class(away from the computers)

Mobile Data = 40ms, Anywhere from 10Mbps to 70Mbps down, and anywhere from 5Mbps to 30Mbps up (depending on my location.)

I got new internet a few months ago. Supposed to get 35MBPS down, which I usually get around there.

Here it is when Im downloading/uploading from/to Melbourne in AU.

And from my phone on 4G LTE and Verizon,

I usually get higher, when I'm out of my town. Verizon speeds and coverage semi-suck where I live. Mostly anywhere else, pretty good.

Also I don't know where you live but the fastest internet connection you can get from an ISP in germany is I think 400M

That's under 100 megabits per second. If you're supposed to be getting 200 megabytes per second, you should call up your ISP and find out why they're limiting you to less than 1/16 of your nominal connection speed.

200 megabytes per second isn't currently even possible for home internet at all, isn't it?
200megabytes per second would be 1600 Megabits per second (1,6gbit/s) and that's (I think) currently not available as home Internet in any country..

It's all about price. Sure, I get nearly 1Gb/s at work - but that's at an IU campus in downtown Indianapolis. That kind of speed isn't available to any home users, and precious few organizations. My home speeds have only ever been about 100Mb/s at most, and that's on a good night (you can't get that speed during the day, but at 3am you have a lot less traffic).

It's not so much about the type of cable, or where the cable is, it's mainly to do with the switch and how close it is, I live in a village and the fastest we could get was roughly 1mbps, because the switch was 2 villages away, now we have a switch in the middle of the village and fibre has now been laid, and we can get up to 400mbps.

http://www.speedtest...sult/5850780467Trying to get Charter (about 60 mbps) to extend the extra less than 1000 feet to my house (Edit: They'll do it for an estimated $60,000), but they're being stubborn. Maybe soon they'll finally cave in.
On a very,
very, good day we get the recommended (and the speed we're paying for) of 6 Mbps. But that usually only lasts for about ~10 min at that speed, when we do actually hit it. What it's at now is usually what it's at.
As you can imagine, it's not
quite enough for a family of 4 to use the internet -especially since we have a business at home.
PS: The ping
is taken via a computer with a direct Ethernet cable.

I used to be on Frontier which provided a solid 85/85, but their customer service was garbo so we jumped on the Spectrum bandwagon.
I guess I should be grateful, it scored higher than 88% of the US. I feel like they compared it using a ratio of upload and download, which isn't saying much seeing as my download is ridiculous compared to my upload.
