I'd have to say 90% of the first questions I asked. It seemed like if you asked the wrong thing, you'd get chewed out by a Moderator/Admin or anyone with experience really. Something like "Look at the wiki or gtfo". It's not limited to this forum though, I think most forums are like it. This obviously wasn't the case (most of the time at least) though.

I'll let this topic stand for now, but I'm heavily tempted to lock it.
Xenthera, I'd appreciate if you could cite examples. Your post history summary for the last year shows only you receiving good help, sometimes despite being unwilling to post your actual code.

However I dont want to hate or something, I really agree with Lyqyd. If Im helping in AaP, which is quite often (not always 100% accuruate unfortunately), people just dont post their code. Then Im like, why do you ask for help if you dont want to post your code? None of the code on these forums are 100% the same, so we cannot see into your head what you are thinking.
However, if you have a question and you need an approach for that, then you can do that without posting your current code. Just because it isnt revelant.
And now back to the main post.
I cant think of any to be quite honest, if someone ever was mean, and saying if, then I probably just ignored it.

Guys. Before something starts, please refer to where I said "Obviously this isn't the case". It's just how it felt from observing others. I have no problem with the help I got.

Ah. The phrasing is very awkward and made it seem (despite the final sentence) like you had personally experienced that here. We strive to make Ask a Pro the best resource it can be, so such dismissal of good questions would be a concern.

Spoiler
It's just how it felt from observing others.
I can tell you right now, the only time that I'm very blunt or tell someone to read the wiki is with a person that's showing little to no effort on their own part and just want to be spoon fed the answers. There is one person in particular who comes to mind that one day asked ~20 questions, all of which the answer could have been easily found on the wiki, or was a reoccurring error! This same person sent me a message on Skype asking for help because I didn't respond to their most recent thread they'd posted where they were getting an error they'd had 5 times before. I got them to add the code in the line before that said error("Read your damn old threads, Google, and error messages!", 0) they replied back to me saying "Now I'm getting this error: 'Read your damn old threads, Google, and error messages!' what do I do?!". So yes, sometimes some people deserve the blunt answer, because as Lyqyd so perfectly stated once (that's I've quoted in my signature) in Ask a Pro, the effort people are willing to expend helping you is usually about equal to the effort you are putting in.
