So, I recently installed JDK 8 and NetBeans IDE 7.4 (a program for programming in Java), but now when I try to launch Minecraft, I get the following error: Error: Could not open 'C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg'. I created the folder "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\lib\amd64" (amd64 was missing), and then I created "jvm.cfg", but I still get the same error. Help please?

Maybe try out eclipse. IMO eclipse is better than NetBeans.

Make sure the NetBeans installation didn't put java.exe under C:\Windows\System32.

See link for details:

java.exe is not there but there is jscript9.dll, jsproxy.dll, and jscript.dll there.

EDIT: Ok… I might have figured out the problem (maybe not why it was caused, but what it is). Before, the launcher would still open, but the game wouldn't launch. Now when I simply open the launchER, I get this error: This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0. I think java got uninstalled from my computer… So let me try reinstalling it.

Edit 2: Grrrrrr…. Didn't work. Lemme try UNinstalling Java and then reinstalling.

Edit 3: YEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got it to work! Um… If any admin/moderator wants to lock/delete this topic, thats completly fine.

I don't care what you say.
