We could use the monitor to get a view of the turtle and we could use the computer to control it, wouldnt that be cool?

You can controll turtles from the computer, you just have to create the programs to do it. But turtles are (and always will be) blind, you can detect and compare the blocks on it's sides, but not get a view.
