What happened to user ranks?

I was going through the forums, noticing that only 1000+ post users had user ranks. What happened to them? I'm guessing this is a bug or is this going to be permanent?

My guess is that they were considered useless (they are) so they removed them, but are keeping them for users with 1k+ posts because, well, 1k posts is a bit of an achievement. You might be able to see them on your user page, though.

Edit: you can't.

They appear to have been removed entirely, though the custom ones are still around.

Okay so it wasn't Lyqyd that did it then :P/>

But, who did? Lyqyd is by far the most active admin (IMO), so I want to know out of curiosity who's choice it is, or if it is a bug. Would the log record this sort of thing?

Hmm odd.

Does IP.Board update automatically?

The admin control panel does indeed record a list of recent logins. I'd assume this change was accidental. I was sorta assuming it had something to do with my taking on a custom title a few days ago…?

No, because changing your title is something anyone with moderator or above priveledges can do. I don't have access to change the entire forum settings.

But… I didn't ask you to do it… :blink:/>

What I meant, was that changing your title doesn't cause that.

So they're gone for everyone below 1000+ posts?

They don't really matter any way, and a few of them could be considered derogatory. Nothing of any value was lost, to be honest. I'm going to go ahead and lock this.

I removed them, they're pointless, cruel to new users, and encourage spamming. Sometimes I like to make decisions like this on a whim :)/>
