http://www.filedropper.com/oldworldWelcome ComputerCrafters, to a new server experience from me, as I had shut down my old ComputerCraft server a few months ago. This one, however, is different. We will be launching a NewObios official ComputerCraft server, which will take the place of my old server. This new one will not go away, or anything like that, as I have purchased a domain(newobios.com) and my reputation would be ruined if I shut this one down. This computercraft server will have all the NewObios admins as staff on it, and will be accessible via cc.newobios.com. The only mod will be ComputerCraft, on the latest version.
RULES:
1) No viruses, malware, worms, or anything related.
2) No griefing, stealing, raiding, or bullying.
3) No x-ray or any other cheats
4) Do not crash the server
5) Have fun

You can't register anymore, as going across the bridge allows you to get the supplies from the dispensers.

Two of those servers were both of Wired2Coffee's servers. I have a lot of experience with ComputerCraft and Lua (7 years with Lua), so I know what a malicious program looks like.
If a player was hacking/X-Raying, what would YOU do?: (you will be judged on how reasonably you deal with this situation.) I would either ban, tempban, or kick the player based on the level of offense. If you were online at the time I would tell you.

Yah, someone crashed it accidentally, they forgot to put a sleep() on their loop so it crashed the server.

It really depends on the code being run. In general, you can't crash a server just by having an infinite loop. However, by calling certain methods on some peripherals, or using certain blocks as peripherals(such as with openPeripheral) can cause crashes.

What are the specs?
I've got a Terra <enter stupid model nr. here> with a Xeon Dual Core and 8Gib RAM, running at 6GHz,
6TB SCSI drives RAID 1,
Ubuntu Server 14.04 running here… I don't use it for MC-servers, but for FTP-hosting an' sh¡z like that.

It's like inside me, there is a book on what to do when administrating. All I need to memorize is the rules and I'm set. I'm good at Lua, so I can help out with anything. No-whitelist servers need really good admins, and I am one of those.

Why should I pick you?: I've been a 'helper' (special rank) on one server before; I was chosen because the owner needed help and trusted me. I handle responsibilities well and I always do as I'm told. Also, weird as it sounds, I'd like to use this opportunity of becoming an admin to improve my admin skills, as I'm not really experienced as an administrator. I did run a small server myself in the past though.
If a player was hacking/X-raying, what would YOU do?: If I caught them the first time, I would warn them and inform you (realgogogoluke) of their behaviour. The second time I would temp ban and if he/she were to do it again, they would be permanently banned. Of course I would notify you of the ban.
If a player was using racist/homophobic language, what would YOU do?: Just like the previous question; the first time they would be warned, the second time I would kick or tempban/permban, depending on the severity of the profane language.
What game is running on the left monitor at spawn?: When I joined, there were no monitors at spawn. In fact, there was no spawn.

You're probably using ComputerCraft config files from an older version, which means ComputerCraft items and blocks will have different item/block IDs than the server. That's why Forge thinks you don't have those blocks and items (ID … is missing). To fix the problem simply delete ComputerCraft.cfg from your .minecraft/config/ folder, then reload Minecraft. Worked for me.

What kind of BIOS changes could I make? Motherboard BIOS or one I'm not aware of?
The bios.lua in the ComputerCraft.jar.
In assets/computercraft/lua (in the ComputerCraft.jar) there is a file called bios.lua. Beware when editing this: this is the (core) of the system, and if you mess one thing up, the computers might be bricked, or some functionality might be removed.

You're probably using ComputerCraft config files from an older version, which means ComputerCraft items and blocks will have different item/block IDs than the server. That's why Forge thinks you don't have those blocks and items (ID … is missing). To fix the problem simply delete ComputerCraft.cfg from your .minecraft/config/ folder, then reload Minecraft. Worked for me.

I keep getting killed by the admin (forget his name 'cause server seems to be down) that goes by 'obsidian'.
Whenever I get close to lava he hits me right into it, and have to walk all the way back to the mines.
Plus he's said that he's 11 years old, this isn't a daycare. Tighten up on the restrictions, please.
Also, is the server down? I have not been able to join.

I keep getting killed by the admin (forget his name 'cause server seems to be down) that goes by 'obsidian'.
Whenever I get close to lava he hits me right into it, and have to walk all the way back to the mines.
Plus he's said that he's 11 years old, this isn't a daycare. Tighten up on the restrictions, please.
Also, is the server down? I have not been able to join.

I am a very experienced player with 5 years if knowledge of Minecraft, 2 years of Computercraft. I will be able to understand players basic needs: "food". and would be glad to show players around and tell them the rules. I am on at many different times, so i might not be able to see every single problem going on though. I am willing to listen to players and their problems with others and warn those other players of the said problems.
If a player was hacking/X-Raying, what would YOU do?: (you will be judged on how reasonably you deal with this situation.)
I will usually be watching the other players to see if they're breaking any rules, and if one of them is mining and i see him mining in odd formations and always finding ores at the end, i will gather some more proof by looking at their chests and seeing if there is an unreasonable amount of iron/diamonds/redstone/gold. This will be hard due to the ground ores problem but I will try. And when i get enough proof i will immediately issue a ban to the admins. If they were flyhacking or waterwalking or no damaging then these are the ways i will test the theories: Flyhacking:
I have a terrible computer right now but if it seems somone is flyhacking i will ask for permission from my sister to use the new laptop to check. Warning: May not always work.
Waterwalking: I will watch the said player and see what happens when hes in water. If he goes across in a unusual speed then i will ask the player to stop, and if the offense keeps going on, i will ask an admin for a ban for this player. Nodamaging:

The lava is due to 1.8 Snapshot worldgen not generating properly when transferred to 1.6
The rednet cable belongs to Ploke Labs.

We've successfully added Teleportation Kiosks for ease of traveling!
Scratch that, I was building while the server was in a huge lag spike and all my kiosks were deleted :(/>
Once the server has recovered from the crash, I will build them immediately!
Edit 2 : I have filled the world with Teleportation Kiosks!
If you need a random location? Hit the "Random" button!

if the problem keeps happening i think i will start voluntarily hosting the server.
EDIT: don't get your hopes up. the server has been down 12am last night. so it might be a catastrophic crash (happens rarely.)

Edit: i almost thought i had to delete warehouse 13 XD. when im back on the server i will place down another coding place. with a CC10 door. and yes griefing it will result in a ban (as someone did with the other coders hut. they put a virus in one of the HDD'S and i had to manually scan them all, so i took security up a notch and added a CC door)
