How did you find about about CC?

So yeah, how did you hear about CC? From a YouTuber (I found CC from SethBling), and if so, who? Did you see it in a modpack, and if so, what pack? Did you just find it on the Minecraft forums? I'd love to know.

I used some computers in Tekkit (the one that is now known as Tekkit Classic). So I wondered what mod they were from because I thought they were pretty cool, found out it was ComputerCraft and downloaded it.

On the Minecraft Forums, a server ad for Mort's CC Server, I'm sure at least a few people still remember that server.

Heard rumors about it from some of my old friends on servers and decided to check it out…

Tekkit. CLASSIC.

I was messing around with various mods (including e.g. zeppelin, unbelievable shaders,…). One of them was CC, I was not very familiar with programming at that time and this was so.. so.. awesome! :D/> I was basically just a user that downloaded code from others (remember WolfOS? :D/>) but it supported me in programming and so I carried it on.. (I learned a lot and started to do some real programming, unity, c#, Unreal Engine…)

Found it when me and a group of friends used to play Tekkit together. This was when Tekkit was the modpack for Minecraft.

YouTube threw me some recommendations according to my searches about Minecraft, Modding and programming. It was WolfOS (WolfOS FTW! :D/>) or a CC tutorial, which was a pretty good one, although I don't remember who was the uploader he taught me to use locals (badly remembered quote: '..don't ask why you should use "local" just do it…').
Ah, WolfOS, this OS was one of the reasons I decided to get into CC (the main reason was the ability to program in-game) and as many people did, I almost immediately started by doing an OS (I had some Unity's JavaScript experience so it was pretty easy). I still have the OS, it was near to be finished, and if it had been finished, it would have been one of the most feature rich OSes by that time… I even made an intaller/updater (without pointless sleeps!), made my image and video formats and video player. Only things that had to be done was a feature rich file manager (I had it, but it was only able to browse through files/folders, view images and play videos), to finish video/image player and make a user able to rearrange, add and remove desktop icons without editing desktop config file. Each user had their own desktop and user folders. There were Administrators and Users, each with their own rights. The OS had a clock and a non-working taskbar, but there was a working start button. The OS had non-moveable windows, still it looked cool. There was settings program in which you were able to browse what users are on the computer (and their info), change if you want to see animations or not. Wow, I really got off topic… Oh, BTW, it was made in CC 1.33 (ASCII art and keyboard only). It's a shame I didn't finish it, it was so close to be released…
Getting a little off topic
I remember that he set his tutorial scene to be a flat world, he found a town, got into a house and setup his computers by the farthest wall. I did the same, and I still use that house and map as my main CC map.Ah, WolfOS, this OS was one of the reasons I decided to get into CC (the main reason was the ability to program in-game) and as many people did, I almost immediately started by doing an OS (I had some Unity's JavaScript experience so it was pretty easy). To be quite honest I can't fully remember when I first heard of it.
But I think I recall hearing about it early 2012, but the first time I remember really using it was on a Tekkit server in the mid-2012 holidays. I set up this security server with disks as keycard access. I actually tried to make a GUI OS at the same time, with 5 pressure plates as the mouse (in a + pattern). Needless to say it didn't really go anywhere.

I play a lot of FTB and I also watch all of Direwolf20's videos on YouTube. This is how I found out about this mod. At first, I played around with other people's programs. This was easy to do and I found it fun, but i then started to get nosey and wanted to see how the programs worked. This got me into learning the basics of LUA. Now, I spend about 2 Hours a day working on bits of code.

FTB Ultimate
EDIT: In fact, FTB is the only reason I got into minecraft. Vanilla MC really does nothing for me - it's the mods that make it interesting.
