It would work like being on a computer's terminal, except that it doesn't have a GUI (or UI). Bassically you place it somewhere on a computer, and when you right click it, it allows the player to type in. I think it would be usefull for things like programs that require user input and are ran on a monitor, or if the user wants to run shell on a monitor without the computer's GUI in the middle
It would automatically connect to the computer its placed on so it doesn't need peripheral wrapping.

this has been requested before, please use the search feature next time.

it is also possible to provide the user with an on-screen keyboard for monitor programs when you don't want to give them terminal access.

Also, you could create this using rednet and a pocket computer.
