it would be really cool to have a program that will mine specific branch patterns and when detecting wanted block type, mine it all out and then resume it's branched out mining pattern. anyone know of someone working on a program like that?

does the turtle detect a block type before mining it?

First of all, wrong forum. Second, no there is not a function to detect a block type, which WOULD be a valid suggestion for this forum.

that's what i was thinking after reading a few other posts on here. read dan didn't want to add such a functioin. i think because you could use it to greef and even as a attack drone to greef players. targeting just valued block ids

Well you can already compare Block IDs, which should be enough with a good program imo
