block update probblem (redstone not powering on next tick)

power from a computer can power through a block (like repeters do) but it doesn't update the redstone wire on the other side of the block causing the wire to remain off when the computer is powering the block next to it. Breaking then replacing the redstone causes the wire to activate. The same is true when the signal goes from on to off the output stays on when it should go off.
