[MC 1.7.10][CC 1.75] Peripherals++ v1.3.6, MiscPeripherals reimagined! Includes speakers and pocket computer upgrades!

*Collective Framework is now required for this mod*

Peripherals++ is my attempt at porting MiscPeripherals. It contains some of my favorite peripherals from the now defunct mod, as well as including some of my own peripherals. Everything is modular, meaning that you could disable any part of the mod you dislike for whatever reason (but I know you will love all of it). The mod also preloads example scripts for each peripheral; more info located here.

This is still a very much work-in-progress and I hope to rapidly update this :)/>

Peripherals++ has a wiki! It'll contain everything you'll ever need to know, check it out here: http://peripheralsplusplus.readthedocs.org

I'm really happy about, that someone continued and maybe Improved the left work of RichardG. I hope it will be maintained for a large while, because I won't miss it.

If I permit my self, I would like to make one or two peripheral suggestions: I would love tank-read-out support or a peripheral-Block which can read and send a Redstone signal analog and binary. That would be great, what do you mean?

Can It be that I'm not understandable? Possibly… But I would like to get an answer, at least a "no".

Firstly, give it time. Secondly, that second suggestion is confusing, to me at least.

Sure thing and my reply wasn't that friendly, but in the mean time he wrote 2 answers. I don't really like it to be ignored, so sorry for my rudeness. Anyway I'll explain what I was thinking of:

A Block which can receive and send a analog or binary redstone signal: In other words: I can put him anywhere in the world and can emit an redstone signal 0-15 going out from this block. In the same way I can receive a RS from 0-15 which are connected to this block.

It is more or less a continued version of this mod. It isn't that important, but an answer Is the only thing I really need. (And if it is only "I'll think about")

Sorry, I didn't really understand what you were saying so I sorta skipped over it in order to give important updates until I had time to figure out what you meant. But I'm not really sure why would would need such a block, the current Redstone API in CC supports analog I/O.

It is pretty simple why it is useful:

Now say you need a possibility to read or send a redstone signal 10 Blocks away from your Computer. You could use a second computer or maybe Project Red, but sometimes you just haven't the possibilities to do that like this or it is just to wasteful.
Even the sides of your computer can be used more effectively.

You can use this Block with normal CC-Lan cables.

It isn't that important how I said and less useful with Project Red, but not useless at all .

Don't you think I wouldn't know that? -.- I don't want to be rude, but I know the API's…

Nope, It is only realizable with two or more Computer/Turtles. WAY too complicated and more than unnecessary.

Hey there. austinv11 !
I really joined this forum just to say, that I really appreciate what you're doing here. It's awesome to have many of the peripherals made availible by this now not supported mod :3
Well, for this, and to make a request:
Pretty-pretty please, if you can, add the Speaker peripheral. It's sooooo cooool to be able to build a base with this level of interactivity :3 Thanks in advance and please keep on coding xP

Thanks! I'll add it to the to-do list, but I'm not sure how far it'll get in development since it'll require operating system dependent libraries.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand.
So rather than using a computer to read and output analog redstone signals, you would like a peripheral that does the same job?

-what ever snip is, it is snip-

Okay, here again: You know how LAN-cabels work, right? Here have a look at this. You can use ONE block to send and recieve Redstone signals without big programming effort.

rb = peripheral.wrap("redstoneemitter_0")
rb.setRedstone("right",0)
rb.setRedstone("left",12)
rb.setRedstone("front",true)
rb.getRedstone("left") --Output: 12

Maybe combinable with ProjectRed Bundled Cables and yes, I know that CC1.64/1.65 has ProjectRed support.

Yeah, sorry, I don't really think it's needed with the current state of CC.

Thanks anyway for you answer. How I said: I really like your work, I hope it continues.

It's not hard to do it with ComputerCraft, example.

Sender

rednet.open('left')
local state = rs.getInput('right')
rednet.send(1, state)

Receiver

rednet.open('left')
local state = rednet.receive()
rs.setOutput('right', state)

Ok, Think larger. How much Computers? 20? 30? Everyone make ticks, every time. And additionally: It is to expensive. For just a procedure what can do 1 Computer… well played.

Anyway this is going long enough. It is not the Thread: "discuss how useful a stupid idea is, thread"… it is austinv11's thread.

btw: I won't response to the next answer which is about this topic, but I will continue this discussion per PM, if someone want.

Why not add a "teleporterName" in your TeleporterApi with the name of the item (possibly renamed by an anvil) when you get the list of teleporters available ?

Hey,

I definitely like this - good job!
Though I have one question: I use the current version (1.1.2) and am wondering why there is a duplicate method for the Environment Scanner.
So there is p.getTemp() and p.getTemperature() which will both return "WARM" - I'm in a desert, that makes sense.
Why not just one? :P/>

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm currently trying to resolve this issue, but here's what you should know about that function:
It'll return a table, the table will contain a bunch of other tables, each of those tables then have the keys "player" (which contains the player's username) and "distance" (which is how far away they are from the block)

I know you probably are investing more time into code than the docs at the moment. Not that there is anything wrong with that ;)/>
But would you mind adding some code samples to the wiki pages? Nothing fancy - just basic functionality.

Reason why i'm asking is i'm having trouble with the player sensor and just want to make sure that the problem is not wrong usage.

That would certainly be much appreciated.

What i want to do is to open a door when i'm near. For that i have tried something like this:

local sensor = peripheral.wrap("left")
while true do
local allPlayers = sensor.getNearbyPlayers(5)
local foundPlayer = false

for key, var in pairs(allPlayers) do
  if var[player] == "playername" then
   foundPlayer = true
  end
end

print("Found Player:"..tostring(foundPlayer))
redstone.setOutput("right", foundPlayer)

sleep(1)
end

But all i get is "Found Player: false" even when i'm standing right atop of the sensor (i also tried it without the range parameter - still didn't give me a result)
Yes i input my real ign not "playername" - thats just a generic placeholder.
If someone can point out my error i would be very thankful.
mybigfriendjo #39
Posted 29 December 2014 - 10:02 AM
I'm just plain dumb. Figured it out. I forgot the quotation marks when accessing the content of 'var':

for key, var in pairs(allPlayers) do
  if var['player'] == "playername" then
   foundPlayer = true
  end
end

var['player'] works, var[player] does not - lua just didn't throw an error at this line.

Thanks

will be adding this to my unlisted public feed the beast pack on the next update

Was most sad to see the original go as i loved the speech synth that was in it. I tried to make my own and even did a tutorial on how to add speech synth to minecraft (http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/MrGReapers_tutorials/1.7.2_how_to_add_a_speech_Synth) but i just wasnt good enough to get it synced on servers etc (never could get my darn head around packets lol) very glad to see it already done!

now to intergrate this with the various lantea craft gate dialing programs i use " chevlon one encoded …..chevlon two encoded"

you have made my night!

ah havent had a chance to try it yet (still working on the update to my mod pack) i actually thought the chatterbox was the speechsynth peripheral.

with luck you will be able to do what i could not :)/>
I wrote (and recorded) the tutorial i linked to but there was issues with the speech synth,
1) while it spoke other minecraft threads on the client froze, ie all animations stopped untill the phrase finished. i got around that by using another thread but my java knowledge was and is too low to know how to make that work right :(/>
2) i could not figure out how to get a computer talking to be heard by all players in range, i did try to use the same code as the area effect of the becon and that seemed to work well in my tests some of the time.

The advantages of the librarys i used in the tutorial :
they will work for any OS as thier java (so not windows only like richardg had done)
they sound more computer synthed (ok some would say thats a negative but i really think it fits the style better plus "would you like to play a game?" :)/> )
they can have the pitch and shift altered so can sound different

I wish you luck chap, and if my tutorial is even remotly useful then it will be awesome to know it helped :)/>

that was one of the charms of the freetts (and the ability to change the tone lol)
have updated my server though, now just got to figure out how to use the speakers (been ages since i used peripherals)

i tried
a = peripheral.wrap("bottom")
a.speak("hello world",10,"English")

at the lua prompt and got "java exception thrown"

any ideas?

edit 2

ok tried the same in singleplayer but using "en" as language and it printed out the hello world and then under that en…but no speech. tried it again on the server and again java exception thrown…nothing in the log though.

The iron note block is planned, the speaker is fixed, to use the packaged program, "speak" you just run it with whatever you want it to say as the arguments.

Do you can do a "Command reader" ?
For example:
———————
a=peripheral.wrap("left")
while true do

event, command = os.pullEvent("command")
if command == "/open door" then
rs.setOutput("right",true)
end

end
———————
You can add this event in "chat box".

working great in single player (though sounds rather too human lol) but same error as in the video on a server

more details about the server:
it is a proffessionly hosted server so likely on a linux system.

This is pretty much same problem i had with my attempt, you need the server to send a packet out to the clients in range to say "hay you..yes you, run this via text to speech "phrase" " im guessing like me you have the server doing the library calling, which works great in single player as thats server+client. i could never really get my head around packets (doesnt help that theres about a million different tutorials each one different and most if not all too old)

Yeah, this is strange. I am in fact sending a packet to the client from the server to process tts requests. I'll have to see if I could set up a test server and figure this out. I'll report back when I figure this out.

UPDATE: Issue found! Time to figure out how to fix it.

there is more wierdness, im looking at my server files and i found a folder called null (never a good sign) opened it to find a folder called ppp_mount and in side that a mods folder

the mods folder contained multiple folders including one called speaker with a file called speak and index.json

speak contents is

Spoiler–[[
Created by austinv11
]]
tArgs = {…}
local LANGUAGE = "English"–Change this to change the voice
local p = peripheral.find("speaker")
for key,value in pairs(tArgs) do
p.speak(value, 64, LANGUAGE)–Speaking
local event, text, lang = os.pullEvent("speechComplete")–Waiting for the speech to complete
end

and index.json is
Spoiler{
"ver" : "1.0",
"files" : ["index.json","speak.lua"]
}

could it be a naming context that causing issues, in windows Folder is the same as folder but on linux they are two different folders, so if the computercraft folder its aiming to put the program on is Computercraft but it trys to put it in computercraft then that may indeed hit an error…..this is at this stage me just guessing as to the issue, so please ignore if im wildly off the mark.

That is intentional, it is where I store the p++ mount locally, although a null named folder is a bit weird, does my mod correctly mount the file in game? And I uploaded a fixed version now! My packet was using a client-side only method for some reason. I tested on a server, so I'm 99.9% sure that I fixed it this time (I swear!).

ah ok, no idea if it mounts in game right but since i can wrap the peripheral and dont get the error untill i tell it to speak im guessing so.

At work untill 0100 so cant test the server version (unless work gets really really quiet) untill then but will let you know how i get on :)/>

cheers for the speedy fixes, it is appreciated.

I'm having problem with the chatbox, I'm wanting to say a message to the server however I get thrown a java exception.
This is my exact code with my chatbox to the left of my computer.

This may not get ported as this functionality is present with the new turtle apis, but there's a chance that I'll add it ;)/>

Thanks for replying, I just wanted to let you know that the server on which I'm playing on is using forge essentials chat module. I'm unsure if this will make a difference but I wanted to tell you just in case. I will test on a single player world with only computercraft and your mod installed shortly. Thanks again, I will report back on how my single player experience goes and good luck on finding a solution.

Edit:
Sorry I jus realised that in fact my server also has Cauldron which I think is causing the issue, I'm sad to say I wont be able to use your mod unless the compatibility issue with Cauldron is fixed.

Hi austinv! Thanks for this mod. I want to suggest you add for which Minecraft version this mod is. I know it's in the topic title, but adding it somewhere on the front post and Wiki would definitely help the blind ones like myself. ;D

EDIT
I'm also having trouble using the mod. How do I interface with the peripherals? I'm trying an XP turtle, for example, and according to the Wiki, it has a 'getXP()' function. However, neither turtle.getXP() or simply getXP() do anything (they call nil), while in lua mode.

You need to wrap the xp peripheral.
Shrooblord #86
Posted 02 February 2015 - 11:13 PM
Naturally. I tried that, but it doesn't seem to want to interface. Once it's wrapped, should it just work using for example

h = peripheral.wrap("left")
h.getXP()
?

Even with one of your peripherals next to the computer, "ppp" appears in fs.list, yet doesn't actually exist, but is read only nonetheless, in singleplayer, strangely enough.

Also, I found the secret text in The Journey of the First Programmer (from the villagers, and which is book+emerald, not paper+emerald, as said by the wiki).
The last line in Volume 3 is "Did you catch all my references? ;)/>" (found that in the lang file, and yes, I did!), and the author of them is "dan200" (I found that in the Java, I'm hardcore! xD)

Other Suggestion: On the Dev build's i would highely recommend implamenting a build number for them, as it may get hard to distinquish between the different builds in their current version naming format.

thanks again for your awesome work!!

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates recently, but I've been working hard trying to finish the satellite system in time for release, but it's currently too buggy. So I'm afraid I'll have to make release without these. But I pinky promise it'll be included in v1.3! Expect 1.2.0 in the next few hours. Anyways, time to address some comments.

Hey! Thanks for the bug report! If I'm reading your log correctly, it looks like you're using an outdated version of Applied Energistics. Updating it to rv2 should fix the crash.

I'm getting a java exception everytime I try to use the speak function, the computer does speak but it exits the program. The error is: "Java Exception Thrown: Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 3".
I've tried multiple versions of Peripherals++ (1.2.3, 1.2.4 and 1.3) all with the same result. I noticed that someone else had a similair, if not the same problem. I'm not sure if it is meant to be fixed already, that's why I'm reporting it just in case.
I'm using Minercaft 1.7.10, CC 1.7

I love the possibilities with this mod, can't wait to make a GlaDOS like program, keep up the good work :-D

Does the shearing turtle work? I'm not seeing a recipe and after spawning one in creative when I issue dig() command it returns no leaves. I'm in 1.7.10. Thanks,

Is MiscPeripherals++ 1.2.6 compatible with CC 1.73?

Awesome, that you updated those old things that miscperipherals had, which sadly doesn't get updated anymore!

And for your statistics: A friend and me are using it in an FTB modpack for a public Server

To get a shearing turtle, craft a turtle with shears. And I'm currently trying to figure out what's wrong.
Is MiscPeripherals++ 1.2.6 compatible with CC 1.73?
No, but Peripherals++ 1.2.6 is.

hi,

i have a problem when using peripherals++ with thermal expansion RC7, peripherals++ changes the recipe of
"iron ingot" -> 9x "iron nuggets" to "iron ingot" -> "turtle ingot". this makes the mod unusable… is there a workaround?

i tested it with nothing running but cc, peripherals++ and the cofh package

thanks

I would like to thank austinv11 and other contributors for continuing my work. I haven't had a chance to play with the mod since my computer has trouble running newer versions of Minecraft, but from a quick look at the wiki, it's looking good.

The downfall of MiscPeripherals was a result of the large amount of mod dependencies it had. I used the ForgeCraft modpack to develop most of the cross-mod integration, but after I lost that avenue, things spiraled out of control and I lost my motivation. Keep up with the great work.

That's a limitation with the way the ComputerCraft API works, in fact the turtles showing up in NEI was sort of a hack on my part. But I am planning on full-fledged NEI support. In the mean time, check the wiki.

Have fun!

Also, coming to a Peripherals++ near you soontm, NEI Support for turtles! No more googling recipes for turtle upgrades, press 'u' on a turtle and you'll find a list of all possible upgrades, or if you see a turtle you like, press 'r' on the turtle with upgrades and you'll find a recipe for that turtle.

Hi Austinv11,

Do you think it would be possible to add the ability to extract more data from AE networks to the ME Bridge?

For example, some really really useful data would be the amount of each item and item display names.

it would be fantastic if you could look into this.

Thanks.

Hi,
today i wanted to try out your mod for the first time, using only CC 1.73 (newest) and your mod (1.2.9).
Sadly the game keeps crashing upon loading (into Mojang screen/creating PPP-Folder), here is my crash report;

Crash Report: http://hastebin.com/icidasutoy.avrasm

I hope this helps you fix something, i will try to disable the ME-Part of the Mod, this might fix the problem.
Did not work :(/>, i am not sure where/what exactly the problem is, i hope it is not because i did not install AE.

I tried out an older Version (1.2.8), and it worked, will be using that version for now.

EDIT: Did I missunderstand the purpuse of this mod? Does it just add extra peripherals or does it also make peripherals from other mods available (like storage)?

For some reason I can do "getPlayers" and "getHUD" but nothing listed under the antenna page. is there any way for me to 'connect' the devices in the code that I have missed. I have right clicked the smart helmet on the antenna

EDIT: NVM figured it out. If anyone has this trouble make sure an antenna is connected and type 'edit ppp/antenna/helmet'

I am trying to find a way to connect nano swarms to the antenna and have searched the wiki for something like .getEntity() so that it can be controlled similar to the .getHUD in smart helmets. I have also searched for a program in the dynamic mount with no avail. if anyone knows how to link the nano swarms to the antenna it would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have tried upgrading the pocket computers by combining with the peripheral container like stated on the wiki and I cant get it to work. http://prntscr.com/7wx2w4

in lua to test im trying.

local p = peripheral.wrap("bottom")
p.listAll()[265]

This returns value nil even though I have 193 iron ingots in my ME system. using 1.3.0 for peripherals++ and using AE2 rv2 stable 10. am i doing something wrong?

Also PPP is empty for my programs for this device. I assume no programs have been added yet? or did I miss something.

That's not how you get specific items. Run p.listAll() in a lua prompt and you can see how the array is structured.
Not sure about the missing example programs. They might've failed to download, but I don't know why they would. You can view them here if you'd like.

Ok, but when I do that in Lua i get nil for item id 265 iron ingots. but for other item ids it comes back with a reply. With what mod there in and how many there are. And they are on the system. http://prntscr.com/7xh0e9

any item ids over 231 do not register it seems like. They return a nil value. I have a lot of mods but for most of these they are working on the mod.

The ME Bridge doesn't work like that, using the item id as the array index will not work unless you have every single item in the game in your AE network, you have to loop through the table until you have found what you are looking for.

I'm pretty new to programming so I'm trying to work things out still. I can't find any post or program were anyone can show how to get this to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm on the wiki but I think its for people beyond my skill level.
grand_mind1 #159
Posted 28 July 2015 - 12:01 AM
The ME Bridge listAll() function returns tables within a table. Each table within the overall items table contains information about a different item. For example, if I have coal and iron in my ME system, the listAll() funcion might print something like this:

The overall table contains two tables: One for coal and one for iron. If I had 200 different items in my ME, it would have 200 tables, one for each item. Each item table contains 4 pieces of information:
1. The unlocalized name
2. The metadata of the item
3. How much of that item is in the system
4. The localized name

With that out of the way, we can get back to your question. The reason you can't do something like

p.listAll()[265]
Is because this is going to get the 265th item in the ME system, which you don't have. It doesn't work by item ID. Instead you need to loop through every item in the ME system and find the one you want. In your case, this is iron. So, to loop through a table, we do

for k,v in pairs(p.listAll()) do
  --stuff
end
So now, 'v' is every individual item table in the overall items table. To get information out of individual item tables, we access each piece of information as a table index like I listed above. So v[1] would be the unlocalized name, v[2] the metadata, etc. From here, it's fairly simple to get the amount of iron like you wanted. You could something like this:

for k,v in pairs(p.listAll()) do
  name = v[1]
  amount = v[3]
  if name == "minecraft:iron_ingot" then
	print("You have "..amount.." iron ingots.")
  end
end

Hope this helped, and feel free to ask more questions!
Also, the Ask A Pro section on the forums is very helpful and friendly to new people.

Hello austinv11,

First, just a short introduction, I'm Douglas, my minecraft moniker has always, and will always be Leonard_Nimoy.

Thank you for working on this mod. The chatbox and speaker are my favorite peripherals to play with, it is nice to see them being thought of, I am also pleased to see you have OpenComputers support in mind, as I was playing some Resonant Rise 3 today, and found myself with quite an empty feeling that there was not a chatbox or speaker to play with. I am excited that your work will possibly reverse that sad truth, and I am elated that today I saw you have posted in this discussion. I hope you will allow me to impose upon you a few questions.

What kind of encouragement might I offer you to include the fireworks launcher, my favorite peripheral, in your work with Peripherals++? Has the idea come up to perhaps get your work included in the Resonant Rise 3 modpack, which has OpenComputers and ComputerCraft? Also, if this were not the case, would it be permissible to ask the people of Resonant Rise to consider your work for inclusion?

Sincerely,

Douglas

Testing the new version reminded me of another weird bug that has been in every version I have used and apparently still exists: If I place down an ME Bridge so that it touches an existing ME network, the ME Bridge vanishes. If I place it in a spot where it isn't connected and then place a cable to connect it afterwards, then it works as intended.

I tried the 1.3.0 version but i keep getting this error when running: java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid shapeless recipy!
here is the whole crash log: http://pastebin.com/wbNCh4Z4
Is there anything i can do about this?
Hm, I'm gonna have to investigate that.
Please do that. I'm experiencing the same problem: http://pastebin.com/20HjXvH9
I have uploaded a bugfix update, please let me know if it fixes the issue!

Thanks for the quick fix, It works now for me.

But now I am having trouble with the speaker. For a while it won't speak but it does run(returns values also). previously this didn't happen and so I changed the config back to its original state, but still doesn't make any sound.

EDIT: I did have this problem before updating

Do you have any idea what the problem could be? (btw im using a mac)
The issue is not on your end, it appears that Google has started using captchas for those requests since apparently speakers are too popular. Use the synthesize() method instead, see here for more info: http://peripheralsplusplus.readthedocs.org/en/latest/peripherals/speaker/

That is very strange, I'll have to look into that too.

This is my first time trying this mod and I immediately noticed huge performance issues. See attached screens for CPU usage with and without Peripherals++ (running server and client on the same machine). The framerate quickly makes the game unplayable. This is after just installing the mod, without actually crafting anything with it. I get the same thing on the latest dev build.

I'm running Java 8v60 64-bit. I've allocated 2GB for the server and 1.5GB for the client. I have 40+ other mods installed, but I don't get the performance issue mentioned until Peripherals++ is added.

Heya!

How do I specify metadata for an item to request when using the ME Bridge retrieve function? I don't really understand the documentations for it (…"Note: The item id can include metadata value by using the form "[id] [meta]""). How do I do that? I don't understand what a form is, is it a table? The retrieve function doesn't accept tables so I'm guessing it's not. I've tried what I thought would do it. E.g:

me = peripheral.wrap("back")
-- I want to get `chisel:marble:1` where `1` is the metadata
me.retrieve("chisel:marble", 1, 5)

-- So I tried this(knowing it wouldn't work...)
itemStack = { id = "chisel:marble", meta = 1}

-- Obviously doens't work as it's expecting a string as first argument
me.retrieve(itemStack, 1, 5)

Anyone give me a hint at what I have to do. Thanks.

I found the solution, turns out when you want to use metadata, a string formatted like this "minecraft:sapling #metadata" would use metadata. This could maybe be a bit clearer on the wiki. Sorry for wasting anyones time.

If you double-post in quick succession, they're automatically merged. This doesn't trigger an "edited" message.

Hi austinv11 wanted to add a confirmation to the report that "Sancho" made about high CPU usage after adding Peripherals++ 1.3.3 to my mod pack.

Here are my setup specs and a few details on the tests i have performed.

Hardware:
  • Type of Server: Dedicated.
  • Number CPUs: 1 phisical (4 core)
  • Type of CPU: Intell Xeon
  • Memory: 20GB
  • OperatingSystem: CentOS 6.7 x64

Java Information:
  • Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_80-b15)
  • Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.80-b11, mixed mode)

MC Server version:
  • KCauldron-1.7.10-1492.152-server
  • forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1492-1.7.10-universal

Affected Versions:
  • 1.3.3
  • 1.3.2
  • 1.3.1
  • 1.3.0

Last known unaffected version:
  • 1.2.10

CPU Idle:
  • with out affected mod: between 1.8% and 2.4%
  • with Affected Mod: between 102% upwards fo 300%

Number of Additional Mods:
  • 146
  • 0 [Only its pre-requisit mods e.g its support library and ComputerCraft]

As you can see from the information above the server should be able to handle running a very large mod pack plus a number of players.

I have test with both the basic forge setup and again with the more complex setup of KCauldron the CPU usage bug is present in both.

Additionally i have tired playing about with the java runtime settings of the server, the bug remained present.
I have even srippted the server right down to only running computercraft, Peripherals++ and its required support library and the bug unfortunatly is still present persists.

Hope this information is of some help.

Actually I've got an error using this mod. When I put Interactive Sorter on the ground it works just fine but when I try to break it to pick up game crashes. In single player you get a crash report and in multiplayer (private server with friends) you are just kicked from the server to the menu. When you are loaded on server the block is not on the groung nor in the inventory. Kind of annoying bug.

Pastebin for crash report: http://pastebin.com/uj3jyuH7

Hope there would be a fix :)/>

i would try to find out, but the 100% cpu kills my computer and i think they were added in 1.30, when it started to get 100% cpu

i've managed to deal with the high cpu, and as i have found out there is currently no crafting for the nanobots.

and for my own question, how does the "voice" parameter work? i've tried doing so many languages, yet none have worked. it might not be the language though, can anyone tell me?

Whatever you wrapped doesn't have a "synthesize" function available to it.

Maybe you meant your other left (ie, "right")?

didn't see anything, but tbh i really didn't look hard… is there some sort of microphone input block, i know there is a speech synth block which i can't wait to find a use for.

if there is not a microphone input block would it even be considerably possible to do so?

There's a ChatBox, which can fire events based on messages typed into chat.

But actual speech input? Well, anything's possible, but I wouldn't call it practical. I'm not aware of any currently existing peripherals for the purpose.

I can't make a pocket computer with a wireless modem and a motion detector. I craft the pocket computer with a peripheral container, then the motion detector and then the wireless modem. I end up with a standard wireless pocket computer. Not sure if this is intentional or a bug.

crafting of any kind wont allow any peripherals to be added to the container and NEI doesn't show the recipes

Version 1.3.4 has just been released. You can grab it here.
You can see the full changelog here, but the most important change is that the CPU usage problems should be fixed.

I just released version 1.3.5. Once it's approved on curseforge, you can download it here.
It's a pretty small update, but I couldn't wait to push the rewritten chunk loading turtle. It should work perfectly in other dimensions now.

Yep, it should make the update for the support of 1.74.

Couldn't you just upgrade to 1.75? There aren't any breaking changes so it shouldn't be a problem. What error messages do you get when you run it with 1.74 (put your log file on pastebin or something).

I don't have any examples with buttons right now. To answer your other question, you need to call obj.sync() to sync the render stack. Until the stack is updated, nothing will be drawn.

I know about calling obj.sync(), when I run the program it makes the rectangle but it is completely opaque.

I've just released 1.3.6. It includes numerous bug fixes over the past couple of months.
Once it's approved, you can download it here.

Development for 1.8.9 is in progress. There's not a whole lot right now, but you can track it here.

So I'm having an issue with the Thirsty Turtle. It will load the liquids perfect but it says 'attempt to call nil' on the drop command even though the suck command works fine. Here's a screenshot. I added the mod to Skyblock Infinity Evolved I know I know shame on me! lol
[attachment=2632:2016-07-26_12.28.48.png]

-Edit-
So apparently the commands are different from the 'updated' wiki example getLiquid() is actually getFluid and unpack() is drain() but that doesn't help me with which one is for placing in the world :/
I even took a look at the source code but they are the same as the wiki. I is very sad right now…

-Edit- -Edit-
so I'm stupid I just had to look at the change logs -faceplam-

Suggestion for austinv11:

Make a way for the turtles to create teleporter links by themselves, without a player running between the stations with repeaters. As of right now, turtle.place() with a repeater selected doesn't work. Or, rather, the action itself succeeds, but it doesn't create any links. The only thing that does work (at least, the only thing I found) is using the Tool Manipulator from CCTweaks, which appears to actually perform right-clicks, as opposed to whatever magic turtle.place() is doing. The Tool Manipulator is a bit expensive though (8 diamonds a piece), and CCTweaks isn't in every modpack. So it would be nice to have something like that in this mod.

It's an interface of Cleverbot wrapped into a peripheral. Unfortunately, doesn't work right now.

UPDATE: I found a way to make it work. PM me if interested.

Hello,

Does anyone know how to increase the chunkloader size of the chunky turtle?

I would like it to be a 3x3 so it can keep moving when it gets to the edge of a chunk.

Thanks!

I believe it should load the next chuck when it attempts to move into it (I may be thinking of another mod)

Actually, to my memory a turtle will autoload any chunk it tries to move into, peripheral mods or not. It's one thing to have a player move away from a turtle, it's another to have a turtle move away from a player…

Wouldn't surprise me if this is only true of older ComputerCraft versions, though! Worth testing if you haven't already, either way.

will attempt to run with just computercraft to see if that is the problem…

EDIT: Computercraft ran fine by itself. The problem lies with this mod for some reason….
Will keep testing to see if I just did something wrong.

Should this mod or computercraft go into the coremods folder? I currently have them both just in the mods folder.

If i recall correctly, core mods are something that users no longer need to be concerned with, just dump everything in the mods folder and forge will figure it out.

Also, read Bomb Blokes post if you haven't already.

Noticed some buggy behavior with GUI buttons today. Still haven't figured out the order of the other arguments are but the wiki states that the argument order for the addButton command is number x1, number y1, number x2, number y2, number id, string label. While I have found that the first argument used is the button's ID, I haven't been able to really problem solve the rest of the order yet. Also, after the code is saved, sometimes the entire computer has to be rebooted for the effects to happen.

EDIT: After further testing I can (somewhat confidently) confirm that the arguments used are as follows…. ID, initial xPos, initial yPos, xSize, ySize. I often have to restart the world for code changed to come into effect. If this mod is even updated anymore, can it get looked into? THX for awesome mod and all the hard work put into it, autinv11 and grand_mind1 :D/>
