Hey guys,

QUICK NOTE: It does work and you can use it if you want as a personal cloud storage system, just PM me with the amount of space you would need, considering the Max we are going for is 250MB of course I will give you less and if you need more space just ask and I shall set it up!

Just a quick one really, but I have a new cloud storage system on my web server.
I have made it because it may be useful as it is being intergrated into the app store allowing you to publish to the computercraft app store using a few validation systems to make it simple and easy and no waiting time. If you want an account then feel free to PM me with some details :D/> I shall be making it accesible using a ComputerCraft Based Program but until that time of great things you will have to wait and use it on the web. The app store is nearly ready to use just got a few little bits to clear up then it will be accessible.

Can be used as your personal storage if you want to store stuff on the cloud instead of bring a memory stick etc.

Features:
+ 25MB Quota (Apply for more just by emailing me: danny.smc95@gmail.com or just PM me on here).
+ It is free and is really for you all to use to store your programs.
+ It will (in time) be intergrated with the app store which is undergoing a pretty make over with a new user interface.
+ You can share to other registered users that use it on my website or if you have the same application on your site we can add you as it is cross-server sharing and multi-development.
+ You can contribute together and it has a nice little version system to allow you to see what versions there are. There is a recycle bin in-case you delete things you want to keep and it even has a 30 day auto-delete on the recycle bin.

Note: I know it doesn't seem much but for Lua programs it is loads, if you want to store homework or school/college work then just PM/Email me and I can up it if you are going to use it!

It is really just for storing programs (that is what I use it for), it's all user based so your files are safe! :D/>

I hope people actually use this as I really wish to contribute to the community!

Thanks

This is amazing! I can't wait until this is implemented into OneOS or Nova! It could be just like Dropbox!

What if you could do remote booting, from your servers? It would be awesome if you downloaded data, then put it on a ramdisk, then booted off of it! Take a whole operating system on the go!

How secure is this?

I ask because, if I recall correctly, NDF-Jay had a bit of a disaster with his cloud storage system. I'd just double check that everything is locked up tight.

Are there any specific things you plan to integrate, or will it just be on there? PM me if there are any specific things and we can see if we can add them.

I am thinking about a cloud system. I'm going to take a deeper look in to this. I just want to be absolutely certain that it won't get hacked and will work in the manner OneOS would use it.

Edit: Oh, I see. So you're using another cloud service but hosting it yourself? That actually seems like a far better route than making it yourself really. One question though, how do you register :P/> There isn't an obvious way.

OEED:

Yes it's secure! I am using it currently as a simple
Cloud storage but am slowly taking it apart to add in some pretty integration for my App Store, but if you do like it, I would certainly be happy to see if we could integrate it with yours? As it's easier to upload files and then publish a folder and download that, which the installer does all of this, of course you can't see any of my integration for the App Store it's just the cloud storage system, and for the username and password thing, don't be excited because it is just the cloud storage, IN TIME it will be added to my App Store and yours if you want, but as I develop these options they will be added which in fairness could take a few weeks to months, considering how the database stores information. If you want an account PM me as I have to make it while I add the register form to the login screen:)

I just liked the idea of making app publishing a lot simpler as well as having a cloud storage to store my work files haha:P so yeah it's a bit of both xD

For security it stores files using request tokens, so it's hard to explain without skyping you but it's secure I know that, considering I spent most of today trying to flaw the code and get past it:p

Yeah I am working on some kind of FTP based file storage :P/>. Once this is done, you register in the CC program. If you are using programs, you can upload to the App Store?

when you say "megabyte", are you referring to 1024 kilobytes, or 1000 kilobytes?

The problem I had with a lot of clouds was that they tend to use OAuth or something similar for actual authentication (the login part), which requires the client program to be able to receive response headers, which sadly is impossible to do in CC.
