Turtle Block Placing Bug

When I was making my script for the turtle to follow a path of preasure plates I noticed that sometimes it doesn't place back the preasure plate but wooden planks. This wasn't a bug in my script since there weren't any wooden planks in the inventory of the turtle. I have no idea why this happens, but it's very annoying. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is something I can do about it?

I think you cannot, it's an early release of turtles.

Turtles act funny when attempting to place quite a range of things. Mostly things that are not blocks are very iffy if they get placed correctly.
