CodingRevolution

Coding Revolution is a GitHub organization anyone can contribute to. There are some projects stored there where a lot of slaves nice ComputerCrafters are needed to be completed. One example of such a repository would be Aware. Aware is a project that pursues the goal to become a language parsing, command executing bot. If this is to happen, a lot of people are needed to write the concepts of different words, make the code better, write databases…

If I had to chose one word that would characterize what Coding Revolution is, it would be cooperation.

If you like the idea, you can join the organization. Do this by simply leaving a request in the comment section. The request should have this format:

GitHub username:

Repository you wish to help:

Time zone: (optional)

Thank you in advance,

and I hope you like the idea!

Just my two cents on this:

People generally want to do their own thing. To quote from one conversation I had:
Just like most people on the forums I like to write my own code, mainly because things frequently go wrong and I like to know why.

I feel this is one of the biggest problems we have. Instead of people contributing to other projects to improve them people like write their own. Now I don't think that that is a bad thing as it helps you learn, but I think that it would be nicer if people would contribute.

Some of my favourite projects have somewhere between 1 and 6 contributors. Of a forum which had 600 people on in the last month? I think what you are trying to good is great, I just don't think that people will take part. I think all we can really do is put "The code is on GitHub so send me a pull request!" at the bottom of every topic. Though it must be said, that hasn't really worked either :P/>.

I'll see your hive project and maybe I will be able to help you.

It is not so much the code that requires to be written, it is more the databases. For example siri has example phrase databases, which were written eithr by people, or taken out of books. It also uses concepts. Concepts are like a description of the object.

For example: Car:
Transport meduim. Mostly 4 weels. I driver. On roads.

And stuff like this.

Moreover, I am debating if I should make TheOS ediatable by anyone, which would make it one of the best OSes. Anyway you are welcome to help there too. For example BombBloke was very helpfull with kernel. Polishing and bug fixing mainly.

Is really nobody interested in making a program very good by allowing anybody to contribute. You can suggest ideas for projects too, then I could create a GitHub repo. And anybody could participate.

I would love to join in this however I don't yet have a GitHub account I'll make one later today so I can join. :P/>

Honestly with programs constantly being remakes of other programs because everyone is focusing on making their own low level methods of doing things a collaboration project would be really nice. So please don't give up yes most people won't do this however if you get one of every 20 people who go through the forums at some point we will have more than enough people.

Thanks. Be sure to leave your GitHub username here when you created it. Also tell me in which project you would like to participate. Or suggest a new one.

If anyone from CRev. adds notable code to my Hive project, then I will try to repay the favour.

About that, I beggan coding for Hive, but when I tried to commit, GitHub didn't allow me. My local git client is smartgit. If you enabled it, I could help you.

Edit: You already responded on GitHub

Thanks anyway

Hi guys, I have done two thing ragarding CR:
- I have created an official chatroom. It can be found here.
- I have forked OmniOS to CR so that if you want to propose changes and I like them, they will be released.
