Non-RedNet GPS

I am in 2 Creative Plots servers (if you want to know, Developer's Hub and QuantumCraft) where we simply develop programs. We though would be nice adding B:rednet-gps:false in config so we can develop much easier.

My friend and I have a program we have been working on actually that's essentially a http port of the rednet functions. We can send this to you when it's good enough to be released we were planning to put the program and web scripts up anyways. This would solve your range problem on any servers without a whitelist

Are you talking about infinite range, or something like that? I don't why you'd want to just disable gps in such a manner. You can just remove the GPS program if you don't like it.

It almost kind of sounds like the suggestion is GPS functionality without the need for rednet. It's kind of hard to tell exactly what is meant, though.

If that were the case, then all you need is a command computer, since Dan changed the GPS API so that it'll search with command blocks first.

You still need to use rednet for transmitting and receiving the position to non-command computers however. I suspect he's talking about, say, turtles, for which there is no command variant.

fair enough then.

See this topic. Dan has suggested he might command pocket computers. Maybe.
