If you are using Chrome, it may be due to the fact that it reloads the pages in order to log you out of any other google sites open in other tabs.
It may also be valid for all browsers.

Chrome might not care, rather reloading all pages just to be sure. Dunno, don't use it.
I do notice that while CC's page is open my browser continuously seems to be exchanging data with one of twitter's servers, however.

Well, some other sites use google login.
