[CC 1.78/1.79pre1] White dots on monitors

VERSION:
Version 1.78, also happens on 1.79pre1.
Did not happen in CC1.75 and before.
DESCRIPTION:
All monitors, large or small, produce random white dots on the screen.
The dots are spread across horizontal lines which are at exactly the same positions as the character grid (maybe an inaccurate floating point drawing error drawing the character grid?).
EXPECTED RESULT:
There should not be white dots.
REPRODUCTION STEPS:
Simply make a monitor, it doesn't have to be connected.
Maybe this issue is only on my system, who knows.
You can view my specs on my profile.
SCREENSHOT/VIDEO:
Dot pattern close to the screen with some green coloured pixels so you can see the pattern: (click on it for 1920x1080)

I experience this too, though I quickly convinced myself it'd been happening in older versions too?

I'm probably wrong about that.

I'm sure it didn't happen in the MC 1.7.10 and earlier versions of CC.
I didn't test on 1.76/1.77.

Not an issue here. This might, indeed, be a video driver thing. Are you using the latest versions? I'm currently using nVidia's 361.28 driver on Linux, but I haven't had this problem with Mesa/Intel either.

I'm back on 353.06 (Win8.1 64bit), but this doesn't irk me enough to bother updating - in regards to drivers, I learnt to stick with "good enough" decades ago. Plus my system also has an Intel card and that does the same thing.

I have just updated my drivers (last update was 3 years ago lol) and it doesn't show the white dots any more.
I'm sorry for reporting this as a bug and if I have wasted your time.
