If this actually gets released… I'll write a PvP AI. Joining random servers and winning 48 hours straight sounds funny xD

More like joining random servers, loosing 10 million times, then, 10 years later, it manages to kill one player. It will be another 98 million tries later untill the next win

I think it's realistic to expect at least decent results. There are already somewhat potent PvP bots in the wild.

Considering the skill of the average Minecraft player in PvP I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a 50%+ win rate of one of these after some training lol.

You guys are confusing bots with AI. Project AIX is a project to make an artificial intelligence that learns to play Minecraft. They are not coding a bot to walk up a hill, they are letting an AI do what it wants and "rewards" based on how high up the hill it got. You try do this with PvP, a very complex system of vectors, angles and a shit ton of prediction. If you want this AI to learn how to pvp you can either 1. make it join a server and reward it based on the damage it deals to any player(which is a pretty bad idea because the process can't be accelerated) or pair it up with another ai and reward whoever wins(or deals the most damage as they will probably just do nothing for the first million times).
