i thought it would be like frames and block breakers and deployers and a pc that controls them but.. O_O
Posted 27 July 2012 - 04:39 AM
Nope, Its paint 0.0
Posted 27 July 2012 - 11:09 AM
Doubt i would get such smooth display with frames and block breakers :)/>/> screen can technicaly change whole picture ever <0.6 seconds.

while I'm just guessing here but could you not change all pixels at the same time by broadcasting to all turtles? I know it would all be the same color but it would be extremely fast.
Posted 27 July 2012 - 11:57 AM
Yes you could broadcast to the turtles(thats what i use for syncing the screen), all of the shown programs besides pixletester uses broadcast

Wow, this is awesome.
Posted 27 July 2012 - 05:22 PM
So this is future coolness today? Cooooool!
Posted 28 July 2012 - 05:50 PM
Damn that's cool. I was trying to build it now, but i fail. Nice work!

Now to make an ink cartridge bot to go replace the paint rollers when one of them returns false
Posted 29 July 2012 - 03:14 PM
KingMachine: during the beta painters never broke, so i had no need to change them :ph34r:/>/> However, if i were to do this again i would use everlasting painters or a painterturtle(both thanks to hackingroelz).

Awesome! Any chance you'll be releasing the code?

How did you go about turning all of the turtles on without getting carpal tunnel? XD
Posted 06 October 2012 - 08:36 AM
Turtles able to turn on each other with easy.
Posted 06 October 2012 - 07:26 PM
That's true. :D/>/>Turtles able to turn on each other with easy.
In fact, you could have sort of a "diagnostics turtle" that would go through and turn all of the turtles on, while at the same time returning the ID of the turtles for the main computer to create the "turtle mapping" that the OP described.
Posted 06 October 2012 - 08:43 PM
Turning on is simple. Mapping too.
More interesting would be providing colored painter when it is done.

Yeah turning on was done with turtles, reproviding paints is something i dont even want to think about XD im glad that stuff was bugged back in the beta, they never ran out :3
Posted 10 October 2012 - 06:23 PM
I can suggest you some way to painter replacing if you interested. RP2 or CC only way.
Posted 11 October 2012 - 04:07 AM
you can also just create a computer that writes a custom startup disk for each computer, also with the computer peripheral you can get each of the ids
Posted 11 October 2012 - 08:05 AM
What if you had a regulator on each turtle providing hm with color? pain though that would only support 9 colors.
Posted 11 October 2012 - 03:42 PM
and will not eject empty painter.
Imho Eloraam should extend regulator to 4*4. Especially for 16 colors.

Does Anyone know what he used to make the turtle use the painter?
Posted 07 November 2012 - 06:38 AM
I mean, if he just manually tracks color remaining, he could then have a resupplier send to the right place
