ALthough a lot of people are proficient programmers, many of us are not. How about a small suite of basic programs that build, for instance, farms. These would use a standard framework but the preprogrammed floppies are crafted in game, at least until such a time as they could be purchased for emeralds in some future update.

Yes these can be downloaded 'for free' in game terms but I think it would be more immersive to craft them. Of course those who wish to do their own programs would be free to do so.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, interesting. Heres how to do this on a server.
Spoiler1. Program basic programs and put on floppys.
2. Have admins dupe floppys.
3. Sell floppys!

It's a fair idea, I'll give you that. Though I would have thought making them spoils in chests would make more sense.
Kind of conflicts with the ideology of minecraft, but then when there's a mod that can make pigs fly, who cares.

i like it. i clould make a peripheral for this that when you insert a floppy disk and you call cf.create("xxx","xxx","xzx") and the recipe for that labled disk is created! i kind of like it
