This would be so cool, especially on SMP, you could make a proper cinema! I know its not impossible, look for yourself http://www.minecraft...907-tv-mod-125/ .
It is probably the most complicated mod EVER to program, but there must be someone out there with the skill required, or maybe even dan200.

The whole graphical thing was kinda left out.. Dan doesn't want it to be all pretty with colors. It's meant to be more of just a normal computer (Like UNIX).
You can make ASCII movies, just look at the code for the secret starwars "film".
