PDAs, or handheld computers of some sort, seem to be suggested constantly. The idea is largely dismissed as OP, and I tend to agree. What I'd like to see instead is something more like a pager, able to do nothing but recieve messages. It should basically act like a computer with wireless receiver running a simple program in a loop, listening for and displaying any messages it receives. It would have an ID, like a computer, so it could be targeted directly with send() as well as receiving broadcast messages. Ideally, it would work somewhat like the map, where you have to hold it and look down to see the messages on it's screen; if it could do some kind of audible alert as well, even better.
