It would be cool if turtles could interact with levers and buttons, so they could change stuff on redstone circuits automatically.

They can directly output redstone - why would they need to interact with buttons and levers?

In case where turtle and player wants to control same machine. So normally player is using it, but occasionally turtle may come by and set levers.

And lever codes! Player enters correct code, goes in, and then a turtle comes out and resets the levers so noone else can see what the code is!

I'm sorry, but ever since I installed ComputerCraft, lever code doors feels like Stone-Age technology. A computer can already handle all of this, and better. Who needs levers/buttons anymore? Plonk down a computer, and it'll do everything. Use it with Redpower, and the world is yours to command. Nothing is out of your hands. Can you think of any example where a computer can't be used?

can't be used? no. Aren't really necessary? absolutely.

Point is, that if turtle is supposed to simulate right click, when turtle.place() is executed, then this should already work.

I think it would be very useful so it can open/close wooden doors permanently and edit noteblocks for an incredible music engine

Okay. Now THAT would be cool. You can still use a computer to control your whole home, rather than a button press that can only handle one small section. But a turtle that truly simulates right clicking and can operate everything the player can, would be VERY cool. I thought you guys just meant levers/buttons, which would just be a waste of time anymore. Cloudy presumably thought that too.

YESSS. yes it would.

Especially if other turtles are included in the list of things it can use :)/>/>
/me programs mining turtle to craft a mining turtle from stuff it mined, place a disk next to it, and boot it :DDD

haz, uhm, a crafty mining turtle can already craft another of itself, craft a disk drive, craft a disk, copy it's software to disk (With an appropriate installer setup file for the purpose), and boot it.

You can't legitly get crafty mining turtles :)/>/>

Never mind, I was thinking of crafty wireless turtles.

Eheh. I just thought this through. I don't think Turtles should automatically be able to right-click anything. No, I think it should be a tool. My first, and probably most hilarious thought was to make a ginat finger that would just craft/graft onto the side of the turtle. Then I got real and realized that it should just be a stick.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get a turtle to boot a computer of any kind :)/>/>
Ohhh. peripherals. :D/>/>

Gentlemen, allow me to bump this ancient thread, but I can't get a turtle to interact with levers/buttons :(/> I tried out pretty much every position

It was never implemented, as turtles can already directly use redstone.

You can also reset it by destroing the levers and rebuilding them. Or you could just make a lock using computers.

Necro = bad
If you have an issue with your program, you can post in the ask a pro section.
But yes, this was never implemented, since turtles can directly output redstone signals.
