Colored Text

Will colored text be implemented?

It would be really epic if we could distinguish text by using multiple colors!

This has been suggested before. I believe colored monitor or terminal text will not be supported, but I think that we will have printers, with (colored?) text in the next update. I'm not sure about the colored text on the printers though.

I don't know. I haven't been in the beta, so I haven't tried it yet.

Yo guys I know about the next update entirely. Ask FunshineX on youtube. He just recently joined these forums, but he has a large series on youtube that showcases some great programs he made and he has a whole series of tutorials for every aspect. In fact he was so popular for it, the creator of ComputerCraft let him try the Beta. FunshineX showcased the beta in one of his vids. I won't give the stuff away, but go check out his vids.
BTW:there will be color printing based on colored dyes in the printer.

Well, take a look at one of all the posts suggesting colors and see what the devs said.

In ComputerCraft.cfg, there are three entries called "terminal_textColour_r", "terminal_textColour_g", "terminal_textColour_b". You may set your text color there.

Ya one color, and for all!

The general infrastructure for terminal colors is there. And as far as I can see, the color data are even sent through the network already! So actually, I don't think we are far from colored terminals…

Dan talks about colored text in his MineTV interview. I suggest watching that.

There's also a nice short video on youtube that shows how the printers work. They should be fun to play with.
