Redownload CC and dont extract the zip

So just place the zip in the mods folder?

Okay, it works. Sorry about that, last time I installed it it had to be extracted.

Yeah dont worry about it :P/>/> All cool man, common misstake :)/>/>

Well it doesn't need to be in the zip. Just make sure if you extract it, it is named "ComputerCraft".

Yeah but why overcomplicate?

I see no reason to not over complicate things, do you? What ever is easier for the user. I find it easier to extract since I can modify the ROM easily, funny thing is that I use MultiMC so it is actually in a zip file :P/>/>Yeah but why overcomplicate?

if it's unzipped you can modify programs with a third party program (notepad++ :P/>/>) while the game is running and then just re-launch the program to test it. very useful. I always extract it
Posted 14 November 2012 - 10:28 AM
you can do that with a zipped folder too, I do it all the time :P/>/>
Posted 14 November 2012 - 10:29 AM
yeah that's true… I just find it easier to access non-zipped folders

So, conclusion for noending conversation:
To fix the problem you either just put the zip in or you extract it and name it "ComputerCraft".
There is no real advantage of any of these methods.

Yeah but why overcomplicate?
If you want to install "global" APIs, OSes or bios mods, insisting on having it as a zip file is a lot more overcomplicated than just extracting the damn thing and removing 3-4 characters from the name.

Except you can also have a folder called ComputerCraft in which you can put files in, and the files in there will be merged with the files in the zip filesystem (with the files in the folder taking precedence).
Anyway, this topic has outweighed its usefulness - PEBCAK!
