Hello, I play on a tekkit server which uses computercraft a lot and i think it would be a great idea to have an email system, however with a range of only 50 blocks it seems kinda impractical to have a computer every 50 blocks to deliever messages, I have looked around and have not seen any suggestions like this (probably because it is a bad suggestion) would it work to have a program which uses redstone outputs using the wireless redstone mods to send different numbers of pulses to a server room (With a worldanchor) which would have another computer to decode it, store it and then when prompted send it to the correct computer in order to send emails, thus giving a range of 5000 blocks instead of 50? Thoughts? (The reason I havent attempted to make such a program is because I am, a total utter noob)

There are email programs in the programs section of the forums.

As far as the range you just have to put in some repeaters. If you place them at the max height in the sky they will get over 300 blocks range.

You can also adjust the modem range in the config file if you do not want to build repeaters.

He's in Tekkit, the height thing won't work because it's outdated.

Could we have a sticky to let people on tekkit know that their suggestions won't help them unless tekkit updates to the latest version of ComputerCraft (and that if it is going to do so, they should check to make sure that the current version doesn't contain a solution to their problem)?

Again, quit being stupid. Tekkit has no 1.3+ version, as ForgeBukkit is not properly available.

the concept behind these email programs is simple.
cleint sends data containing msg and target id to server.
server saves into target ids folder.
target requests mail from server.

I have an email program in my signature if you are interested.
