I bet most of you care but I'll write this anyway.

So I was just joining a server for a clan match in BF3 on PS3. As I am joining I crash, I think nothing of it so I attempt to restart. Green light, yellow light then finally a blinking red light. After doing some research I have found that this is know as the yellow light of death. I have used PS3 since it first came out. Now I am faced with 3 options.
  1. Pay Sony $100 to repair it
  2. Buy a new one for $250
  3. Or loose all my stats which includes, colonel 100(BF3), 7 100% complete saves of Saints Row The Third(I know I am a no-life), I will also loose all my PS3 games.
I guess I will just play Minecraft till the next Playstation comes out…

I cant say if this would work or not but you could buy a new one and swap out the hard drive. I have heard of the yellow light of death but never had it happen to me or anyone I know that has one.

I realize that but I just don't have the money for that right now.

D: what? I'm just suggesting a valid server hosting service you could use to back up your PS3 save data!
The brave people even protect your servers from Armed Terrorists.
Finally, you can protect your save data from Alkaid!
Even though I am depressed that post still made me laugh. +1 for being good at being a smart ass :D/>

:3 What are you going to do programming wise while you can't play on ze PS3?
I'll spend most my time on CommuteOS(When we finally start it). I also have some planned projects and I am working on doing some special shit for even more special shit.

I suggest getting this:

If they can fix that kind of damage within a few minutes I would be very surprised but then again they are sys admins.

The yellow light of death means that the CPU and/or GPU have come disconnected from the motherboard.

Why do they build it into it, The xbox 360s red ring of death? Cause they must be really needing some money?

I'm guessing you've never heard of hardware problems?
