Releasing code that hooks into ComputerCraft package?

Hi all. I've built a Swing app, for my own personal use, that hooks into the ComputerCraft .zip file and acts as a CC simulator on the desktop, without using any minecraft.jar classes. I did this because I can't get Minecraft or CCEmu to work right on my machine at work. And CC-slacking at work is very important. >_>

Once it is a little more complete, I would like to release source code and binaries. It does not include any CC classes or code or anything, just downloads the .zip file and uses it.

Would the developers appreciate such a thing? Or would it just be totally rude and uncool of me to release such software? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, you see, and I am unsure as to whether the existing programs that operate in such a way have special dispensation or anything.

I would believe that it's fine.

Seems fine to me. I would wait for dan or Cloudy to ok it, though.

If you have java applets enabled, you can use this: http://cc-emu.afterlifelochie.net/

You are required to get permission from dan200 for hooking into CC and redistribution of CC.
As far as I know cc-emu is the only application at the moment with permission to use/redistribute CC,
But yes I did acquire special permissions from dan200, and is required if you want to use and/or redistribute CC through the application.
