I was on a server, and I got a computer, and some gold. I have no redstone, but want a advanced computer. So, why wouldn't you be able to upgrade computers to advanced computers?
So it would work just like making one from scratch but instead of redstone, you use a regular computer.
This would be more realistic, and it would be nice to have all those old fashion computers upgraded!

All your programs that you had on the regular.

Fairly soon? I don't like demands on time.
Regardless, this makes sense. You can upgrade computers into turtles keeping their ID's so why not.

Eh, it was a joke. The 'rage monster' should have given it away.

It perhaps would have done if it wasn't for the fact it was edited in after.

Before looking up the recipe in NEI I actually thought that this WAS the recipe lol, I was also disappointed when I couldn't craft my old computer with a lot of stuff on it, in to an advanced one.
Fortunately the server admin gave me FTP access so I copied the stuff manually.
I would really like this :)/>
No pressure but it would be fantastic.

True enough. I'm almost neutral on this issue, but generally in favor of making computers somewhat more expensive, which tips me into the "yes" camp on this.

Why? They accurately show how many people think its a good idea vs how many people don't.

And what of those who abstain from voting?

Its easier to vote then to comment. And if they don't vote they obviously don't care.

I don't give a rats ass because it's not a case of how many people want it - it's a case of how I like the idea, how easy it is to implement, how user friendly it is, how is it useful.
10,000 people could vote for turtle.getItemID and the answer would be no.

Regardless, this makes sense. You can upgrade computers into turtles keeping their ID's so why not.
Does this mean you have changed your mind just because the OP put in a poll? :(/> Or are you just trying to make a point that polls don't mean anything?

I was just stating that polls don't mean anything.

Ok cool… yeh I feel they are useful to see what the selected few that fill it out think, but overall it is up to you devs, so really pointless in the grand scheme of things.

still polls are powerful tools to get something implemented

Not so much on this forum. Polls rarely get noticed. I don't use them or participate in them.

that makes sense because most people who like computercraft [i'm stereotyping ] are people who like computers programming and logic so they would obviously be able to make decisions for themselves and ignore polls.. but still.. polls the foundation of democracy

Heh, democracy for the most part doesn't exist on the internet.

well that true its more like we users vote moderators get rid of what they disagree with and developers ignore all but our most resilient posts….

I really like this idea, as switching from normal to advanced just makes sense.
