i think it will be a good idea if rednet had like networking cables
like:
copper like 25mbps with 0.01mbps loss per block
1gbps eathnet like 1gbps with 0.003mbps loss per block
fiber like 10gbps with 0.0001mbps loss per block

I will be happy if they make network hardcoded, and make networking cables and routers. Sending it manually by lua and redstone is pc memory and clock waste. Isnt real pc sends bytes by hardware ?

im tinking standed bundled cable should start with 100mbps network (just like 5 twist adsl2)
and should lose 7.5mbps per 1,000 blocks witch is a loss of 0.075mbps per block
but can be bosted with an exchange program
singal rp2 cable 20mbps and same loss

and we should have telephone poles for rual runs
i will post texture for poles soon
please reply dan200

20mbps? 10 gbps? You plan to sling around multi-gig files between computercraft computers? For the love of all that is blocky, why?

your cable speeds are a little high for sending text

I doubt anyone created a program in CC that would transfer files at even 1MB/s and you are dreaming at 10GB/s? I even doubt that lua interpeter is fast enough to do this.
