would be useful for playing the song where it left off instead of just restarting the song when the chunk is reloaded

is there any way to tell when a music disk has stopped playing without being there? Would be useful to have it play on repeat for a disco or have a bank of jukeboxes linked up to play one after the other.

Due to limitations of the Minecraft audio system this isn't possible.

That's unfortunate. I would like to see someone make some modded audio disks, and queue up some sounds/dialogue for adventure maps. That way, you wouldn't need a new disk for each area.
