I had the bright idea to make an advanced computer, attach a big advanced monitor, and run paint on it. I had to grab the temporary patch for 'monitor', but I was able to get it working. However, it's kind of clumsy to use paint on the monitor (you basically have to punch it), and there's no way to use Ctrl.

Would it be possible to create a program like 'monitor' that copies the output of the program to an attached monitor instead of moving the program's input and output altogether? That way I could draw in the computer interface, and people could watch me draw on the monitor. Or would it require editing a copy of paint, and if so, how difficult would that be?

BigSHinyToys already made a program for that! It's called Splitter. It can be found here.
