Need to change Block IDs in Minecraft save
Started by mitterdoo, 15 March 2013 - 01:54 PMPosted 15 March 2013 - 02:54 PM
So I just updated to CC 1.51 and I ported my Minecraft school project (yes, school) to my computer. I tried running the save and a dirt screen with the buttons "Yes," and "No," came up. No other words came up. I clicked Yes, and all the CC blocks were gone. I accidentally copied the NEW config to overwrite the OLD config on my flash drive. Now the IDs are screwed up, and I can't change the Block IDs on my save, so what do I do?

Delete everything to do with CC and Minecraft in general, then reinstall both.

But I need to keep my ComputerCraft computers on the project. I spent almost two months working on it.Delete everything to do with CC and Minecraft in general, then reinstall both.
Sorry I forgot to mention the project had ComputerCraft stuff on it

First of all, make sure you have a backup of the ORIGINAL save file. Then erm, what I did was use MCEdit to figure out what object is what ID, then change the config and try to use it like that. But I need to keep my ComputerCraft computers on the project. I spent almost two months working on it.Delete everything to do with CC and Minecraft in general, then reinstall both.

What Operating System are you using? (Not ComputerCraft)But I need to keep my ComputerCraft computers on the project. I spent almost two months working on it.Delete everything to do with CC and Minecraft in general, then reinstall both.

If Windows:
Start Menu -> Search -> %appdata% -> Roaming -> .minecraft -> saves -> (Your CC World) -> computer (All computer id's and programs should be in here)

Vista Home Premium. I'd kill for Mac with Time Machine. I'll take 1lann's advice though. What Operating System are you using? (Not ComputerCraft)
EDIT:
His advice doesn't work. I had an idea: download CC 1.481 and use its config. Sadly the newer version switched to a new Block ID system, using damage values to determine the computer and peripheral type.

Other solution is, if its only the programs you are concerned about, then see if the 'computer' folder has survived in the 'saves' folder, and copy the programs onto a new computer.

Okay. I'll do that and fix it from there. Thanks for the advice.Other solution is, if its only the programs you are concerned about, then see if the 'computer' folder has survived in the 'saves' folder, and copy the programs onto a new computer.
