Is It Possible To Stop The Ctrl+S?

This is proberly a stupid question
But is there a way to stop that command being used on a computer you have?

I see redworks doesnt feature that with the floppy installation which pretty much suggests I cant do that.
Still worth a try.

Why wasnt this covered?
Its basically a "hack all"

Its like Windows 7 decided that just to be safe they would have a option installed on every computer which bypasses any security to stop thiefs and online predators.
Then they give us all these login screens.

Is this "fixed" in 1.3?

You cannot prevent control + s or control + r, it's intended.

Does this ever plan to change or give coders a chance at a defense?

What do you mean defense? you can defend any type of attack. Part of the reason ctrl+s was added. Otherwise a cc virus could prevent you from rebooting to a restore floppy, and/or brick your terminal :)/>/>

But what if someone walked to your terminal, shut it down and put in a format disk? There's no possible defense against that, save removing all disk drives… Or is there something i dont know about? :)/>/>

You could modify the "bios.lua" to stop disks from booting automatically: http://www.computerc...p-disk-booting/
But because that requires a one-time change to "bios.lua", which is part of the ROM, you can do that on SMP only if you're the admin (i.e. have external access to the ROM folder).
Once that's done though, nobody can just automatically boot from floppy anymore, but needs either a password or has to grant floppy-booting by other user-interactive means (according to your changes in the "bios.lua").

Or you can place a diskdrive with a startup floppy on top of the computer and protect that diskdrive from someone touching it.

But you talk about all this when… I can just smash your computer and ruin your stuff anyway :)/>/>

IE. Keep all your programs on a floppy if you want to be trully secure ;)/>/>

But not if there's some kind of serverside block protection active. :P/>/>
At least for bukkit, don't know about the "normal" SMP. ^_^/>/>
