Not sure if this goes in Ask a Pro, but will the latest version of CC work with 1.7.2 or later? And as a side, would Forge 1.7.2 work with Minecraft 1.7.4? If not, how would I downgrade? (I actually haven't played Minecraft for a while, and I have a new computer, so this is why I ask)

No, there's currently no ComputerCraft release for anything past MineCraft 1.6.4.
The (current) MineCraft launcher has buttons to add / edit profiles. These profiles can be assigined to use specific versions of the game.

Release, I said. ;)/>
I suppose you could try playing with the beta, but I wouldn't expect stability.

Well crud. I know there's a profile manager, but on this new computer I have, the oldest version I have available through that is 1.7.4.

You should be able to do this:
1) click new profile
2) select a profile name (eg. ComputerCraft or 1.6.4 mc)
3) go down to "Use Version: "
4) select "release 1.6.4"
5) click "save profile"
6) run that profile, it will download
7) install mods (I assume you know how to do this)
