help, cannot type a tilde (~)

hello, i use computercraft but i cannot use the tilde sign (~), because the macro on my keyboard is bound to alt gr+semicolon. the problem is alt gr is also used to save in my turtles so how do i type a tilde or prevent save from that key? please help, i really like computercraft and not being able to use the not in lua is killing me..

Alt-Gr to open the menu, Alt-G - semicolon to close the menu and insert the character.
