Just a few questions.
1) How do you format a chang log? And what should I include etc
2) How does the version numbering system work. For example. Version x.y.z
What does x y and z stand for?
3) This might sound like a stupid question but how do you edit topics that you have created.
4) What are some websites that can host screenshots to include into topics

Thanks for any help

  1. Changelogs are completely up to your discretion, just take a look at other changelogs and see what you like and do it like those;
  2. Again, versioning is completely up to your discretion, Google it and take a look at different versioning systems and pick one you like;
  3. There is an edit button on the bottom right of your posts
  4. Websites like imgur work nicely for images

I always aim to include the date of each update. It annoys me no end when I read a log and find this info missing.

2) How does the version numbering system work. For example. Version x.y.z

While it is up to you, typically z increments whenever a minor update is released - usually bug fixes. It can go past 9 and into double digits.

y increments whenever a "large" update is released; a host of new features, that sort of thing. z resets to 0 when y goes up.

x represents major updates, as in, complete program overhauls worthy of calling the new release a full-on "sequel" to the old. Again, y and z reset to 0 when x goes up. With many projects, you'll never see x increment.
