Hello, I'm sorry for asking so many questions but I'm new and I don't understand everything. My friends asked me for a chat or email system via Computers so I thought I use this here for example http://www.computercraft.info/forums2/index.php?/topic/1891-bossmans-programs/

But I don't understand how and where I have to install it, and what I do with the modem etc. can someone explain it to me? I know it is a stupid question.

The only problem is, after downloading I don't know where to put the client and server stuff.

Basically, you have 5 options for getting code into a computercraft computer.

The basic way is to retype all the code in yourself. This is probably the worst solution, but it is always a fallback if all else fails

The easiest was is if you are playing SSP, or have admin access to the server. First you have to navigate to the minecraft data folder. This is the folder that contains the folder where you installed your mods. If you want to have it available on all computers, you can go into the computercraft mod's folder, into "lua", into "rom", and copy it in there somewhere, and it will be accessible from any in-game computer if you go inside the rom folder. Alternatively if you want it installed inside a particular in-game computer, there is a computercraft folder in the saved world directory, that you can copy it into.

Another alternative is to use the http api to download your files from online directly, but this might be to complicated.

As for the router, you attach it to the side computer by shift clicking.

Really though, this mod is not terribly "user friendly". If you want to use it, you are going to have to probably learn some nitty gritty stuff like how to use a command line interface and some basic programming.

Thank you for your answer. I don't really want to make programs, I only need a eMail and a chat program, shouldn't be to hard (I hope :P/>/>). I managed to install Bosschat, but I have my problems with the posted youtubelinks. I did it as it is written in the readme. The Server seems to work, but I the clients say that it is not intialized even though it is.

Wireless range is 64 blocks, and less during thunderstorms… could you be too far away?

No they are like 3 blocks from the server.
