I'm in the latest version of CC for 1.7.10 and… Is this possible?

How? I want to share files from a "server" computer to wired clients.

Wrap the modem using peripheral.wrap(side) and the use this.

Don't. It sucks and doesn't work. it did at one point but IPnet sucked and I gave up on it. It does have a successor, Delta. Still unreleased.
Instead, maybe look through the source code of FileNet and do the thing I recommended above.
